Pretty exciting finish today. I was rooting for Tyler Farrar, but Cavendish is way too fast.

The sprints are excellent! I hope Tyler gets a stage. He deserves it! Boonen sure has been sitting out. Not like him to not even try. I wonder if he's hurt or sick. :?:
    Next big stages:
Stage 13 on the 17th. Hilly and no radios! Hopefully there will be some action unlike the incredibly dull Stage 10 when they had no radio's.
Stage 15 on the 19th. Mountain top finish!! " 'nuff said!
Stage 18 on the 23rd. Annecy TT I may call in sick to watch this! :) Quiet Willie!!
Stage 20 on the 25th. Mt. Ventoux!

    Farrar!

The Manx Missle (aka cool cucumber) is too fast, but Tyler Farrar is getting there. Hope he gets a stage win before it's over. The Cool Cucumber has been saying what he really wants is the final stage win in Paris, but it would be epic if Farrar gets that ultimate prize.

    Le Tour rules.

I have Versus HD on cable TV, working great.

I also watch on the Versus website. I carried my laptop {wireless} to the family room and saw that the live coverage continues while the TV program jumps to commercials (or interviews).

That does it! I'll pony up an occasional $3.95 for the internet HD for more cycling. Hmmmm, now for an RGB cable and I can use the dual inputs of the LCD TV.

congrats to Henrich for that awesome solo win he destoryed the field who would have thought this "sprinter" could do that sort of thing. Thor is now back in green...CTT is doing great for their first show.

People are shooting TDF riders with pellet guns? WTF??? seems like there should be enough spectators around to spot who did that.

sucks about Levi... he was twittering DURING his surgery today. following the tdf riders' tweets has been an interesting dimension to following the tour this year.

When Cavandish wins a stage in a break away I'll be impressed. As it is he's just the fastest wheel sucker.

I don't know, 45mph on flat is pretty impressive. I'll be more impressed if he can show some maturity and sportsmanship and cut out the ridiculous finish line antics.

The only wheels he sucks are the wheels of his team as they lead him to win after win after win. That's what sprinters do! They draft to save energy and then shoot around with 200 to 300 meters to go to try for the stage wins. Most pure sprinters are not break away specialists. They get protected by their team and then led out by their team to try for stage wins.

Hi Foo! :wave:I just finished watching. Excellent! I read an interview with him a few days ago. He really said his form was spot on and he was ready for the Tour.
In case anyone didn't notice, Contador scooted ahaed of Lance on one of the climbs. Looks like those two are mini power struggling when the climbs come up.
Contador looks stronger than Lance. He climbs like Lance did in '99!:bang:

I haven't done blow in 20 years. Does that make me stronger than Boonen? I think maybe so!

I cried when my kids were born and i'd cry if all the years of hard work and sacrifices culminated in a win that was over 6mins from the peleton I'd cry for sure. hell i'd sob like a baby.

    Yep weird day.

Freire, Dean Shot During Stage 13

Julian Dean and Oscar Freire were hit with pellets from an air gun about 35 kilometers from the finish.

COLMAR, July 17, 2009 (AFP) - At least two riders suffered light injuries after being hit by shots fired from an airgun on the 13th stage of the Tour de France on Friday, according to team sources.

New Zealander Julian Dean of Garmin and Spaniard Oscar Freire of Rabobank were hit with pellets near the 165km mark of the 200km stage in the hilly Vosges region.

Freire, a triple world road race champion, had to have a pellet removed from his leg by his team doctor after finishing the stage.

"He's got a bit of bruising but he will be able to start on Saturday," said his team boss.

Dean, the main lead-out man for American sprinter Tyler Farrar, was hit on a finger of his left hand, according to his Garmin team.

Police working on the stage were immediately alerted by the teams.

Word...here is an interesting thread about Hincapie getting screwed.

It was deemed that he was intentionally blocking Hushovd at the finish.
