    FOR SALE!

$600.00 or best offer (lowered price)

    More Images HERE

This sale is for my 2006 Gary Fisher Cake 3 DLX Full Suspension bike, Size Large (19”). I bought it new in middle of 2007. This bike has been ridden roughly once every other week since I bought it. However, it's been untouched since I got my new bike back in May. Most of its life has been spent on fire roads and single track. It has never been jumped, stunted, downhilled, or hucked off drops. I rode it hard, but never thrashed it.

It’s still in good shape, but does have some wear and I tried to display it with the images. There are scratches on the crank arms, paint chipped off the chain stay from chain suck, some scuffing from my bike rack lock, minor scuff on the carbon seat stay, and just found one of the cage screws on the underside of the bike is stripped and won’t come out. There is also some cable rub marks on the head tube and headset and side of rear shock, a result of poor routing on Fishers part.

Other than these blemishes the bike still rides, functions, and looks great! The bike has always been garage kept.

There are no mechanical problems with the bike. The brake pads were replaced about 6 months ago and still have ample usage. The bike is completely stock and does NOT come with pedals. Bike will come with Owners Manual and Shock Pump. Specs for the bike are below.

Can also find manufacturer details with this link http://fisherbikes.com/bike/archivemodel/216

I’m selling this bike because the more I rode it, the more I realized it’s not the correct size for me and I looked like a gorilla on a tricycle. I had to ride with the seat at its maximum height to get the proper extension on my legs. This in-turn put me way up over the handlebars and I just got tired of riding that way. I tried to ride this bike as long as I could and finally came to the conclusion that I need something that fits me properly.

I’m 6’1” with a 33” inseam, longer arms, and short torso and my geometry wasn’t good for this bike. Unfortunately the dealer didn’t stop me when I was purchasing it, otherwise I would be on a bike I didn’t have to sell.

I already purchased a New 29er, with proper frame sizing and it’s a god send. I need to sell this one to help pay for the new one…

Please PM me if you are interested or any other questions.

Hmmm, doesn't the Fisher Genesis Geometry set you far back already as it is - could put him in an awkward pedaling position and do damage to the knees over the long haul.

Sucks getting the wrong size bike. You're right about the bike shop letting you walk out with the wrong bike. I ride a large across most brands, but my first MTB was a Fisher hardtail which I bought in XL not knowing any better. Man did I learn the hard way that the size was too big.

Glad you're on the right bike, good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the input, but these images aren't my normal riding position.

The seat is much, much lower than I rode with in these images. I had the seat post at the max extension line to get full extension on my legs. The further the post goes up, the further the seat moved back. Which is why I had to slide it all the way forward to get the balls of my feet over the pedal axles in a comfortable and efficient pedaling stance. I never had knee issues on this bike because I had it setup where I needed it before these pictures.

I'll take a picture of me on it in my riding position and you'll see what I mean. My regular riding partner (sailor ripley) has been riding for decades and he said it was way too small for me. I just looked highly disproportionate to the bike and it made riding sketchy cause the balance wasn't in the right places.

Try to get a pic up this weekend with me on the bike

Here's one with me on. You can obviously see that the bike is too small for me. The seat post is almost maxed out to get extension on my legs. (with SPD and riding shoes of coarse, not loafers and platform pedals.

To the guest who messaged me, I can't find the message again, but the bike is still available. I'm in Corona, CA.
