If I were to mention Klein, Rock Hopper, Stumpjumper, Steve Potts, Diamondback, Mantis, Ross, GT Zaskar, Bridgestone, Fat Chance, Slingshot, Nishiki, Manitou, Parkpre, Landshark & Bontrager to name a few... would these bring back memories? It's time we gave back and honor those that got us here. It's time to pull out of the back of the garage, dust off and polish up those old "horses" that brought us to the dance. It's time to have a vintage STR bike event!

    The Particulars:

When: June 28th (it's a long time off and more than enough time to put those old bike back into riding shape)

Where: The Fullerton Loop (a perfect place to show off these old warriors)

    Time: 9 am

Tailgating partying is encouraged... along with music, food and beverages (iced down)

This is more than a ride... it's the social event of the season.

In addition to your old bikes... I would expect to see some very old t-shirts and jersey's with moth holes in them... just how old can you go. Smelly old shoes are not acceptable...8-[

    UP DATED!!!!!

ATTENTION: We now have prizes donated by our favorite LBS:Adrenalin/The Path/Switchback. :bang:These will be awarded based on ballot box voting by all riders.

    1. Best old bike (frame has to be at least 10 years old)

    2. Best old jersey (must not smell!)

    3. The RACE Of TRUTH... Are you man enought?

We'll need music for this event ... suggestions encouraged ... afterall, this is really an excuse for an STR party isn't it.....

NOTE: According to Neil, any bike over 10 years old is now considered vintage ... any bike over 20 years old is a relic... and any bike over 30 years old has probably been owned by Steppie!

ALL RIDERS INVITED (Even if you don't have a "vintage bike"... COME JOIN THE FUN!

    Until then... stay thirsty, grasshoppers....:drunk:

I am glad you put this on. Sounds fun and plenty of time to pull that bike from the back yard and clean off the rust.

How much of the bike needs to be vintage?

I've got a frame/fork that qualifies but I've upgraded the drivetrain. Will this still count as vintage?

Funny... my wife has one almost exactly like this... only in pink.

Yes... just throw on an old jersey or T-shirt and you'll be fine!

Great theme for a ride, Greg!

I don't have any old t-shirts or jerseys, but i'm working on getting a Salsa 'Pepperman' jersey to wear. I need to rebuild the Manitou 3 fork on my Klein... other than that, everythings a 'go'.

Does my '04 Iron Horse Hollowpoint count as vintage? After all, IH DW-link bikes are almost extinct. ;)

    Trying....

I have an email into Mr "C"... as in RC... as in Sir Richard .... as in Cunningham...to see if he's available for this. He use to live down in this area and was one of the "founders" of the Fully Loop... a very interesting & universal guy. I'm sure he's heard of STR by now and may be available. Wouldn't that be cool...

How about a 1999 Schwinn Straight-8 complete with factory “Bass Boat” gold metal flake paint and a Hannebrink front fork? :bang:
