"Mazer" is a fictional character from a science fiction book some of you may know: Ender's Game. Great book if you haven't read it. Anyway, 'Mazer Rackham' is the person who gives 'Ender Wiggin' his final training in Ender's Game, kinda like Yoda does for Luke Skywalker. Am I a nerd you ask? Yes I am! :bang:

And the "75" was my jersey number in high school when I played football. I've always loved the number, and have used it on intramural basketball teams, and pretty much anyplace a number is required.

    So I combined mazer and 75 into mazer75. :)

A katonk is a Japanese person born in the US mainland, as opposed to Hawaii.

It's an onomatopeia. It's the sound your head makes when it hits the floor.

    Does it really

need an explanation? Well, here goes. Have liked pirates for a long time. Back in the eighties we used to throw some rockin' "Pirate Parties", costumes mandatory, always the week after Halloween. For those that remember, we won the "sing your way to Hawaii" contest with KLOS as, you guessed it, those "Pirate Guys". Goes back a while, still love pirates....aaargh!

Well, my real name is Duc. Most people who see my name for the first time pronounce it duck. For those of you who speak spanish or apparently tagalog, pato means duck. I was given that nickname, as well as a few others, back in high school which was predominantly hispanic.

Mine means nothing I suppose. A little Socalmtb history of my handle (which some of the old members will appreciate):

    - Many moons ago, my first handle was MattMB (Matt Manhattan Beach)
    - I then moved to Pacific Palisades so I changed it to MattPP (my handle starts to take form)
    - After some harrassment I changed it to Matt90272 as sort of a joke (that's Palisades zip, btw)
    - The harrassment continued and I was informally called OPP (after the song) and Matt90210 (after the show).
    - I settled on OPP and it stuck.

SD = San Diego, Yeti = my new trail bike...I love it!

My better half (Man blong Gaua)...now that needs some explaining...

Dan was in the Peace Corps in Vanuatu. His island was "Gaua". "blong" basically means belong. So his name roughly translates to "Man from Gaua". *though we get a real kick out of hearing Mechmann's versions... ;)
