Since i have started riding 4 months ago, i have pretty much stepped into most bike shops around my area and then some. Most of them have been outstanding as far as attitude, service, and knowledge. The ones that stand out the most to me are the following in no particular order.

    Budget Pro Bicycles: Trek
I have known them for over 20 years..although i only started going back to them with in the last 4 months. The owner is Oscar, who is the son in law of the original owner, Heinze. Still, after 20 years, he remembers me, and still tunes my '91 GT Avalanche for free. (The have a lifetime adjustment policy if the bikes were bought from them). Great people!

    Jax Bicycles: Trek
I have gotten to know quite a few of them. Ken from the Irvine store, John and Brandon as well as Nathan from the Fullerton Store, and Matt from the Longbeach store. All of them have been helpfull, pleasant, and always ready to help when i walk in. I have nothing but positive experiences walking in their stores.

    Fullerton Bicycles: Giant/Specialized
The main bike store i go to after riding the Fully Loop. Mike is a crack up..he is the man in charge there. Then there is Mr. Dino Brown who is the main reason i visit there on Wed and Thursday nights. Fred and Ryno are awesome guys too. Again, always welcoming, never too busy to answer questions, and just an overall good vibe.

The Path:Specialized, and a whole lotta other stuff
I have only been there a couple of times..both have been outstanding. My wife really likes the store as well. Our first time there, Neil gave us a 1st time discount with out even knowing us. That along with their super packed shop of goodies, we were instant fans. I only know Neil there, and he was a really good guy.

    Bicycle Discovery:Trek
I only really go to the Fountain Valley store. The sales people there, at least the ones i have spoken with are mainly Roadies, but LOVE the stories they tell about their riding adventures. They are a big trek dealer as well. BIG store!

For what it's worth, i have only been riding for 4 months and these are by far my favorite shops and have ALWAYS treated me and my wife great whether i buy from them or not. If some of you are looking for shops in the North OC area to the Glendale/Eagle Rock area, come check them out and say hi.

I am just an enthusiast and i am not paid by any of these shops.. Thought i'd add that. Thanx!

Thanks for the words. It is so much fun when you come in to the Jax Long Beach location. My next thing we need to talk about is RC/Bike day in the parking lot!

There are a couple of threads on this topic, but I will chime in here until the mods move it.

I get phenomenal service from a new little shop in Newport called Pro Bike Supply. They have a lot of high-end road stuff as well as BMC, Niner and Ibis MtB, but Mike Mayefske is an unbelievably accommodating and knowledgeable mechanic who is truly not satisfied unless you are. I have their shop endorsed n my signature because they treat me and others well - no affiliation.

I also get treated very well at BikeCo. They made some adjustments in personnel about a year ago and (to me at least), changed their attitude. Their mechanics know suspension better than any other shop I have been to.

X2 for Pro Bike Supply... Local for me and VERY fast turnaround. If they don't have a part they will (quickly) get it, and very much a "build to your desire" shop.

I'd recommend Incycle (I go to the Rancho store) and Velo in Pasadena (Roadie store). Bothe have taken great care of my wife and I.

Great to see a thread that isn't bashing one store or another. I totally agree with the comments on Jax, The Path, The Bike Company, and must add Fullerton Bikes to that list of great shops.

Support your local shops and ride safe.

OC Bike Garage in Lake Forest if you need repairs. Cory is a great mechanic and I like the fact that when I drop my bike off, I am talking to the guy that is going to work on it.

He also has bike clinics as well. I just finished a 3 week class on bike repair and highly recommend taking the course.

    Fixed it for ya.

If you have a review of a shop, please go to the thread for that shop and leave your review there instead of starting a new one. Here's a few links to them:
