As per danimal's recommendation, I've been taking CMZ supplement for last 4 weeks, and NO CRAMPS.
    Thanks

I can vouch for Aaron we finished a 6hr ride @ Holy Jim loop today. I cramped up half way thru the ride on the other hand Aaron did not. To my surprise I was happy to find a bottle of cmz in my med cabinet but I have no idea how it got there. Im going to dose myself daily for 3 weeks to see if I notice an improvement.

i've been experimenting with how often i take them. for me i don't have to take them every day. just taking it the night before a ride works for me.

    Fitness.

Try compression gear on rides longer than 10 hrs. Swiftwick socks, ATX leggings and arm wraps. Worth every cent.

Read the blog of George Vargas and other Furnace Creek 508 endurance riders.

Fluids? Yeah, to a certain extent the replenishment equation could be your issue but, there are endurance riders, runners who don't need all that much liquid and tabs. Genetically speaking, some people can hammer all day and the rest of us have to suffer.

After years of riding, only recently started cramping after 4, 5, 6 hours +. Drink about 1 bottle/hour, started using Endurolytes (but maybe not enough?). One day tested SportLegs but started to cramp. Out of the blue another rider came up, told me how to properly use SL (read the bottle better, dummy - to myself), popped 4 right then, close to 1/2 hour later could just feel the cramps easing away and stayed away for next 3 hours. So used them on a number of rides later and boy I felt good.
Accidently saw some compression tights on sale at a LBS. Bought tights and knickers from Zoot. Knickers were TIGHT (yes, made sure I bought correct size), more for recovery but they seemed to work on a couple of rides. Using tights now and do believe they help. No hint of cramps creeping up on me, makes me feel like my legs stay 'normal', not getting the hurt/fatigued feeling even after 2,3, 4, 5 hours.
Going to preride the VQ course Sat Feb 18, 2012. Will use tights, as a test, and take handful of SL's for backup.
Looking for others who want to preride VQ.

So I broke down and drank pickle juice during VQ today and had a great result. I also used coconut water all week before the race to build up my potassium stores. The combination worked like a charm -- and it got a bit warm out on the course (one of the first real warm days this year).
