This is not the actual cow, I didn't have a camera available.

As I was traveling west on Lower Aliso Trail in Chino Hills, making a turn, I encounter what I thought at first glance was a large mountain lion, almost lost my lunch. It was hidden well in the trees, as I got closer, clearly it was a large wild cow.

The cow just stool it ground, it appear to be stuff, not moving or reacting to my approaching bike. I look for the horns, possibly it might make a charge for my bike.

    common

I have seen many cows on lower aliso. Usually the ranchers dont let them graze at this time of year, so it is probably an "escapee"
A few years ago, in october when the ranchers open the gate for the heard...An hour before sunset, and I turn a corner, and holy shiite. I encountered none less than 100 head in Aliso. All over the trail. I make my way to the single track and I run into 2 rangers at the old campground.

I tell them about the cows and they focus on the niterider on my bar. I am informed of that the park closes at dusk and I need to leave.

I love CSHP, it is my backyard, but if CA can save money by placing these two diligent rangers somplace where they might actually have something to do then it would be tax dollars well spent.
