Was up at three watching the ladies... Too bad they cut the feed before the podium mens. Wanted to see if Bryce rolled up in a chair.

The pics on PB of Sam's crash are insane. He broke his neck brace too.

It wasn't a part of the race footage. Unless you had surgery the same day for multiple dislocations and fractures I'm not sure it's too similar.

He didn't even yelp or scream when that happened! That was Foo King FAST!! I hope Josh heals well, can't wait to see what next year is gonna be like with Hill back in the groove and a healthy Stevie. Loic, Stevie, Hill, Bryceland, Brosnan, gonna be fun to watch.

Don't forget all the contract deals that happen in the off-season.

Wonder if Intense can grab Sam Hill and/or Danny Hart to pair up with Shaun Palmer. Not much to pick from if sticking to Americans. Maybe Neko's looking to move up to a better contract.

I doubt it, they dont have the money to pay Hill and Palmer is just an ambassador, doubt he earns much more than free gear and some travel. Plus Hill looks really happy with Nukeproof and their support.

Hill would hate the m9 and I the 951 never seems to be a WC bike.

Wow - Josh was flying down that trail. Scary to think about flying into and over sections at that speed.

Well, Intense reportedly can whip up protos in a day's work.

Quoted from Pinkbike's coverage at Interbike: "Intense CEO Andrew Herrick said that they are assembling a serious assault on the World Cup DH circuit. The team will be announced in the near future and, if all goes as to plan, it will be headlined by top-five talent."

Interesting, I wonder who they're gonna poach. I would think Sam learned his lesson chasing the money and going with another bike. He should stay with CRC/Nukeproof. That's a good fit for him.

Wonder if Blenki counts as top 5 to him. Can pick up some younger talent like Connor Fearon too. Wonder if they would try and pick up non-English speaking talent.

with more info out, he apparently had the same accident as I did, which is hit his heel on the ground after landing a jump, but in World Championship fashion :) which probably means 10-20X more force and broken bones.

edit: actually, looking at that pic, his is worse, he seems to have lost total contact with both pedals, the saddle, likely bruised his ribs on the saddle as well, and hit his helmet on the stem ](*,)

"Contrary to what announcers said at the time, Bryceland did not break his pedal nor crank–it was only his foot hitting the ground after blowing off the pedal that did the damage–and landing to flat after sailing a 30-plus-foot bridge made for quite the impact." http://reviews.mtbr.com/interbike-josh-brycelands-infamous-santa-cruz-v-10

I have no delusions that I'm WC level.

A little throw-back vid. Neko's mostly chainless run that got him 4th place. Love the announcers are all saying "what a shame" until the first or was it second split (~1:20 on the vid) and then "He's OooP by 1.7!". Still amazes me. Already can't wait for next year...

We've seen it all this year, but Neko's completely chainless run is right up there with Gwin's tire-less run as a testament to unbelievable skill. Rat to Flat with a broken foot for 2nd place is pretty amazing too! These guys are good.

    :bang:
