wow.. that question should open up some pretty diverse and interesting responses..... ! good to have you check in with us !
Welcome back and thanks for checking in, Goose. Here's an update. There are approximately 27 members of STR left who actually participate. We especially like to argue about who has what rights while riding, but most of us seem willing to argue about almost anything these days. Actually, most of the posts are still about people stoked on riding or asking advice about various bike related stuff. Most of us have ridden with each other at some point, so we can bust on each others' tendencies like brothers and sisters. I will say most remaining STR members have little interest in World Cup Downhill or Enduro World Series. Those threads die in less than a day, while the ones about riders' rights and the Fully Loop go on for weeks. Please contribute something stoke-worthy to save us from ourselves!
Uhhh... I replaced my, stans, adjusted the clutch on the XTR Shadow, took off and clean the cranks and pulled a couple of the main pivots and cleaned and greased them (all first time for me other than stans)...damn I am boring... OHHHH OHHH I clean almost ALL of Stair Steps yesterday! (2 dabs) Welcome back.
UP yesterday was Brutal.. I can ride a significant portion during winter (75% taking the trail to the right on the way up) / when the trail is packed / tacky, yesterday in the looseness that is SOCAL right now was not that case...major portion HAB up in the steam bath... did I say Brutal... yeah I did.... down was much funner...2 dabs
You made it back just in time to help KidA with the newest installment of the Ride Like a Kid. Come on, you had fun last year....
Hello and welcome to the new STR. I say "new" because the old STR crashed and nearly died and everyone was about go all Occupy STR on George's lawn. Eventually, everything was fixed and about 18 people stepped away from the ledge. As for threads, you've missed about 250 about the celebrated, yet controversial Fullerton Loop. Then there was a strong debate about how the new Yeti SB66 improves on the SB5 by 0.000001% for about $3,000 more. You've missed other quintessential topics regarding Strava, Stravassholes, asshole hikers, asshole downhillers with full face helmets, asshole distracted drivers, and last, but not least, asshole bike thieves. As for the users, there's this guy named Fearless Fly who writes one word posts and then posts about 15 random pics with it. There was this hilarious guy named Tommmy (yes, he's unique because he spells it with an extra "m"), but he's not with us anymore. There's this guy named Taprackbang, who's pretty cool, but contracted upgraditis by cruising these boards. I call it a STRD. When things get out of control, the legendary zen master Kioti will enter out of nowhere and put us all in our place. Speaking of Kioti, I haven't seen him in a while. There have been about 100 injuries, which all seemed to happen at Snow Summit or the Fullerton Loop. Seriously. Don't ride there. Lastly, it's been passed down that aluminum hardtail 26ers are all the rage again, so put your carbon Santa Cruz Bronson up for sale in the classifieds. Whew, I need a nap.
