Healing vibes heading your way that is one gnarly injury. I took a bad fall a few weeks ago at webb and landed on a rock inches from my spine it messed me up for a few weeks. I ended up buying the One Industries Exo Shell.

Moose is a fast skilled rider, this could've happened to anyone. Be safe out there everyone!

Judging by that big ole bruise on his spine, I'm guessing he had a high-speed OTB and landed right on a rock.

I have been watching his post on Facebook and my guess is he will be back in no time. His recovery will be painful but he is a fighter and is not worried about doing the hard work it takes to get back! I know he has a lot of great people praying for him and it helps

    Wow, what a moving night.

During Sunday's Post Fully Loop Hero's Brunch, Dino and Grego proposed a trip to see Brad. The three of us met up last night and made quick work of the drive to Loma Linda. Thanks for driving Greg!

It's never really comfortable going to see someone in the hospital even more so when paralysis is part of the conversation. I'm so glad we went. Brad is fighting the good battle and I have no doubt he'll be up and walking before we know it. It still is awfully scary and Brad is completely aware of what's ahead for him. Although he is still in some major pain he has already started to back off some of the more addictive drugs.

His progress is fantastic and although his therapy is obviously painful, he's ready for more. Once we saw him sit up by himself it was all good. He's quickly mastering the wheelchair and has even found a nice wheelchair downhill run. Of course, you gotta push to the top for another run - no shuttle here. He's up to five "runs" a day.

There's too much to go over in one post, so make some time and visit Brad. He'd love the company and is ready to share all of the experience with you.

Going over the charts and X rays was an eye opener. He may now have the STR record for titanium content

Grego, Duke and I paid Brad / Moose a visit on Monday...

The journey began with the three of us meeting at a pre-determined meet location.
I knew the evening would be a memorable one when Grego (literally) "spun the tires" pulling out of the driveway!

The drive to Loma Linda was quite memorable as well. I learned more about anodizing, machining, metals, tolerances, expansion, corrosion etc. than most engineering students learn in four years! I also learned a lot about my friends! I am a lucky man to associate with such wonderful people!!!

As many of you know, I don't do Facebook. For that reason, I haven't always been up to date with regard to his progress (no pictures. no daily updates.) The lengthy walk to his room and the pause we took outside his hospital room were tension-filled. The tension skyrocketed the moment I knocked on his door (the moment of truth). I peeked my head in... He informed me that he needed a few seconds before we would be allowed into the room. Fair enough!

The first thing we saw when we walked into the room was our friend laying flat on his back with a bright light shining down on him (not what I wanted to see). The first thing I "noticed" was Brad's huge smile. There was NO DOUBT (absolutely no doubt) he was happy to see us!!!! Brad proceeded to raise his bed. The more he raised his bed, the healthier he looked.

About 30 seconds after he raised the bed, he said, "....I want to show you something."
Next thing we know, our friend rises out of bed, moves his legs (so they were hanging off the side of the bed).... He proceeded to swing his legs in circles!!! Words DO NOT (and can not) describe how happy that made me. It was at that moment, I know my friend would eventually walk again!!!

    Ooohhh.. How sweet!

The story behind the name badge...
He wears the badge on rides. He wears the badge when we go to Roscoe's (for post ride food). He wears the badge when he goes to the market. He wears the badge when he strolls into the bike shop... The thought never crossed my mind he would wear the badge during his hospital stay. Pretty weird.. right?!?! Nothing weird about taking on four NEW clients while laid up in a hospita bed. GENIUS!

    Funny moment of the day...
We brought Brad a copy of Mountain Bike Action... He asked ME to cross his leg for him. I asked if it was safe to do so. He said yes! I leaned over to lift his leg. When my hands were about six inches from his leg, he started screaming (as though he was in extreme pain). Oooh man.... I literally ran out of the room! (he got me. priceless moment. he got me. haha.) #-o

Brad surprised us a second time...
Even though he is "currently" unable to stand / walk on his own, he is able to push himself backwards / forwards using foot power alone (translation: his legs are working).

Soooo very proud of my friend (for 100 different reasons)

Much more to this story... It will have to wait until later this evening!

Hoping Brad will "chime-in" today or tomorrow!

    He WILL walk again!
No doubt about it---> He WILL walk again!!!!!

I have been posting my updates on my Rehab, on Facebook. Sorry I haven't updated everyone here. I spent some time to read the post above. Again I am sorry it's very hard to read at times. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I've been broken many time in my life but never would I ever understand the struggles I would need to push through. So the injury as you were able to see an amazing cut that runs most of my back. I broke my L1 vertebrae and 4 above and 4 below my L1 were Spinal Fused. Sold right? No I have 2 plates that overlap those 8 vertebrates by a few extra vertebrates. 22 bolt hold me together. Fun Right! So many may be thinking that I will not be able to ride again. Let's just see. If I were a betting man and were to bet on Brad. I can tell you this I would make you a ton of money. Huge Skrilla. LoL I'm telling I am riding at this time. I will be on a 2 wheel bike ASAP. Love the support. If you have questions feel free to ask. I am healing due to my new faith with God. I have been helped from some of the best people and the only thing I can say to them other than a warm thank you is, "I promise I will learn and pass my knowledge forward".

The only way I am pain free is to be on a bike or help someone that may need the extra Time, Push, or just a talk. Help me brothers to learn more about the Human Body. The most exciting time for me is now! I declare "Bradcan"!
