Help me do something about it. I know most of you on here don't know me (where did everybody go), but chances are you know someone who is diabetic. I (we) could use your help. Even if you can't help monetarily, please just share the link on your Facebook page. Thanks in advance! -Lindsay http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/TourdeCure/TourAdmin?px=4126995&pg=personal&fr_id=9413
Oh snaps . I got the diabetes also . Just got a replacement pump yesterday actually . Medtronic has the best customer service ever .
Been type 1 for 21 years, been on the pump for about 7. I can honestly say Mountain Biking has saved my life!
Please, please, whatever you do please take good care of yourself. My sister got hit with type-1 when she was 27y/o, back in '75. A few years ago (2010), she had an assistant who asked to take Memorial weekend off and said she would get someone to check on her over the weekend. My sister said go ahead and have fun and that she'd be ok. That Friday evening she went into a diabetic comma and was not found until the following Tuesday morning by her assistant. In the past four years she's had over two dozen surgeries and wound cleansings with no end in sight. At this time her body is still septic and and any type of p.t. or activity creates new wounds and open sores. She currently resides in a skilled nursing facility, sleeps on an air pressured bed. -Lloyd
Thanks, and sorry to hear about your sister. Diabetes is different for everyone and can be a very destructive and ugly disease. Thanks to Innes for raising awareness and raising money for reasearch!
Friendly bump. I'm just over half way to my goal. I would greatly appreciate it if you could donate $5. Thanks, Lindsay http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/TourdeCure/TourAdmin?px=4126995&pg=personal&fr_id=9413
