it looks like maybe the karate kid went on a rampage and started breaking fences trying to prove that he's worthy
Poor guy never saw it coming, he just wanted to show the trail work in action, next thing you know we will have a six page long thread about cut lines. the guy posted a vid of him riding his bike, hes not trying to piss people off can we cut people a break some times?
^^ Okay I keep to myself more than usual lately but not this time. The person who posted the video obviously over braked into a skid, blew the shortcuts, ran OVER the broken fence pieces and then almost took out the person climbing the trail a few seconds later. I agree that the criticism should be constructive but in this case I believe it was acceptable to call a spade a spade. To poster of video - Thank you for sharing your video. In the future. please stay on the clearly cut sections of trail and either slow down or even get off the trail for the person climbing.
the ones who ride their bike the least always have the most to say...this website full blown sucks, a bunch of noob riders who do nothing else but hate on people for riding their bikes.
woah woah woahh buddy. Ill be the first to admit that I don't believe with a lot of peoples opinion on here or even how the moderators regulate the website, but saying that it full on sucks is going too far.A bunch of people on here ride there bikes more than anything else they do, and saying stuff like "a bunch of noob riders" isn't going to get your point across. Just because people disagree with what you say doesn't make em a noob rider.
You know, I saw a 5 year old girl pushing her bike up Meadows yesterday, I saw people wanting to see the ocean, I saw a guy walking downhill backwards. These are all fellow trail users. I like keeping it positive. Some of us skid, some of us huck, some of us like fences, some of us don't; but all of us like to be out there. I'm still looking for Kate around blind corners, but even without her, it was a gorgeous weekend out there!
Internet tough guy questionable hardcore selfish assholes ruined mtn biking. Yield to climbing riders and don't ride on closed trails, dipshit.
My first post! And I am happy to use to say thank you as well. I rode through yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Another THANKS to all who helped on grooming the trail on Saturday! The Trail Angels will probably be riding on Sunday just to check it out. And, FWIW, any main trail deviations are purely accidental and certainly unwanted (especially when accompanied by a fall). #-o
Let me refresh....the FIRST page; lots of peeps really proud with all the hard worked from volunteers and wanting to join the next trail work, YEAYYY!, SECOND page; Please PM me with the next trail work (I would like to join you kioti), Happy with the trail condition, show me how to get there, broken fences (please whoever did it out there....STOP IT!!!) and short cutting (wrong...don't do it!!!) and someone posted the video, THIRD page; the video maker should re-DO the ride and filmed it the right way, the title on the video above should be "Oops, I posted on the wrong thread" or "OMG, I get caught in the act accidentally", peeps started arguing and the last thing we know someone said a BAD WORD. I'll tell Yo-MAMMA if you keep doing that...., FOURTH page;....C'mon guys, lets go back to the first chapter and moved on...All in all, I'm so happy to live close by the trail and those volunteers really did an OUTSTANDING hard work. I can't wait to try it...once again thanks kioti and friends!
I want to add my thanks in here. Meadows has great potential for a fun, flowly descent; but the braking bumps, ruts, and especially off-camber turns always made it feel a bit of a letdown for all the hard work climbing up. I'm really excited to get out there in the near future, so thank you again.
Really? Stop posting if you hate it so much. The only one "hating on people" seems to be you. Sorry, didn't mean to take the bait to derail this thread, but since I started the thread I felt compelled to say something. 99% of the posts are positive, and those that are a bit negative are constructive and instructional. And I dare say many are written by people who ride their bikes frequently enough to meet HtB's exacting standards and are certainly not noobs.
Wow! tough crowd! I am sorry about cutting the trail i thought about it after i did it and knew i should'nt have done it. This was my second time down this trail and I was trying to pass my buddy because i wanted to go a little faster and was looking for a quick place to pass him. My apologies to anyone i upset. As for the mtber climbing i didn't almost take him out i clearly slowed for him and moved as far over as i could given the situation. Once again my apologies.
It's cool. It was pretty clear from the video you were trying to get around your friend (who was a bit slow) and didn't think the shortcut was a bad idea. We harp about staying on the main trail because the more different lines created by bikes, the more that other users complain, and the more it leads to erosion that compromises the entire area.
