The Knolly weight is most likely with a coil shock vs an air shock on the others. That's good for close to a pound of weight with a steel spring.

Good thread, Tink. Always a pleasure to see people taking their bike selection seriously. Makes us domestic holdouts feel like our effort isn't wasted.

I've started working on the size sm version of a 7" frame for next year, but it's going to be fall/winter before we fab em. ...in Durango... :) If you're still demoing by then, it might be mutually beneficial to get one to you for a thorough eval.

Yea, sadly, the new company that is Yeti is not the same as the original, though they still "produce" some pretty bitchin machines. ...the original entity, however, still exists down in Durango... so, you know, badassery shall ensue.

The Intense Uzzi and the SS2 should fit the bill...
The smalls are pretty close to the XS knolly i think, but with your stature every fraction of an inch counts.
though you better hurry, time is running out on your Made in USA requirement!

    I'm a big fan of Yeti. :D

I love their take on pedalability. Follow a guy on a XC bike on something like a Giant Reign X, up some hills, and you'll find it to be mission: impossible to keep up if they're fit and pushing it--an unfit person could at least keep up for 1 hill, if they weren't held back by their bike. On an ASR7, you might be *passing* that XC rider. This thing* accelerates soooo fast (* just too unbelievable to be considered a normal bike). It will tire you out though, because of the weight, but that's what I call pedalability. People might be happy with pedalability being just being able to ride it up to the top of the DH, instead of pushing, if you don't mind taking your time, but going up with the quickness of a XC bike is a fun feeling. It shatters all preconceptions you have of how a 7" bike should pedal. This things gets up to speed fast. It really makes a difference practically every time you pedal, and when you pedal at least 60% of the time, you really begin to appreciate it. Especially useful when speed is crucial to clear something and your runway is limited; setting up for drops, jumps, etc. on very short notice is made very possible. As expected, it's not as confident and smooth as the Reign X on the downs and corners, but that can be covered by some skillful handling. Sometimes it actually accelerates so fast that you're unprepared for the speed and throws your flow out of wack, but that just makes you want to up your skill even more and when you make it through a section where you got the hang of it, it's such a rush.

Designing, prototyping and testing done at the Colorado site. Once they're happy, they send plans to Taiwan for mass production (well, relatively small batches) to keep the price down. I'd be intrigued and very curious about your Damper SX, if you went that route; I'd be impressed by your Knolly and will hope your riding will live up to its potential; if I see you on a Yeti, I'd just be flashing a huge grin at you and giving you a thumbs up, since I'll know exactly what kind of great ride you are getting and I approve of your choice. If you got the SB-66, I'd totally want to test ride it (for hours). :D

so, i had a chance to demo a knolly delirium today tks to one of the members here! tks, ed!!!! here's a write up that i sent to my riding buddies offline:

    want. knolly. delirium.

    SICK!

so f'ing plush. like butta baby!! he said it was set up 6.7 in the rear (cane creek double barrel) & 7" up front. thought i read a sticker from on it that said fox float something??? don't recall… had to let some air out after steps, but was so nice on 'wreck!

the cockpit it super tight & standover slightly higher than my mixny, but still manageable. i can't believe they made a bike smaller than this one & can see why they stopped! who's smaller than me riding FR/DH??? lol!

didn't get any cleans. was nervous riding a new bike down steps. was more comfortable on 'wreck, but the brake levers were set up weird- rotated way far down, so my hands were getting tired trying to hold on & brake at the same time… yeah, yeah, yeah… i know! who needs brakes?? I DO! :p so, i almost got a clean on carwreck, but was getting fatigued on the rock garden & kept trying to shift my body weight to stay on top of the brake levers, ended up in the bushes just above the super fast part above the car… so i couldn't get restarted & just walked that section. BAH! i don't think i've EVER walked anything on 'wreck before! oh, well. i pull the 'not-my-bike' card today!

i was actually quite pleased w/how well i rode despite the lack of confidence due to riding someone else's rig.

btw, it was wicked hot. hike up steps was brutal. ugh…

so, dood drove all the way out from corona to hook me up w/a ride on the knolly. super cool of him!!! i'm in love… with the bike, not the dood! can't wait to see if this is what i end up with. sure hope i can get my hands on one! will keep y'all posted! tks for all the input!

My wife is 3" taller than Tink and can't ride even the smallest Yeti. They are too big.

thanks, i know how sweet the ccdb feels, but it weighs about 1 lb more than an air shock. we're going for lightweight for this rig.
