    Fully Loop Maint.

Just returned from a ride around Fully and wanted to give a heads up.

The City was in the progress of cleaning up the long downhill section to Euclid. This would be the section where the trail crosses a short section of sidewalk and then drops down to two railroad ties. When I came down, it was all flat and smooth. I think this is the section that has injured a few lately.

    Just a heads up.

Thanks for the update, 1, but we all know that the trail didn't injure anyone. A more accurate summary is, "People riding badly caused the city to sanitize the trail."

Sanitize , I have seen it said alot . I prefer upgrade, repaired, enhanced or regraded. Sanitized makes it sound like Lysol was used. By the way Panorama Trail ( Super loop area) and little entry drop into golf course after rr tracks was sanitized this week.

Would like to get to the golf course this month.

Everything is good, they graded (sanitized) a few rutted sections. Seems like the loop gods have received enough blood sacrifices lately, haven't heard of any recent injuries. Healing vibes to all that got hurt there recently.

I am not a fan of the sand put down on the downhill before Euclid. Tread lightly.

What I've discovered on the hill before Euclid is to stay on the right side of the trail until you get to the ski jump. You'll notice that on the right side there is a pretty consistent path over hard-packed dirt with very little in the way of ruts. After the ski jump, the ruts seem to determine your line.

I just rode on Tuesday and had no encounters with the fill sand.
I should say that you obviously need to use common sense, don't just blindly ride down the right side of the trail, there are places where the most optimal line is somewhere other than the far right.

Sand has never been put down in any areas of the loop. This is the existing soil in that area. Many, many, many times clay type soil has been added , however the sand seams to eventually work its way through, especially after rains and during summer times.

Take that back , Once in Hiltscher Park before Euclid some sand was brought in due to a sewer spillage a few years ago.

I'll take your word for it. That section was better before the recent makeover, IMO. Though I'm sure the recent carnage in that area may have had something to do with the change.

to the guys riding tonight you might want to double check the last part of the trail before it hits the Golf Shop along Harbor Blvd since water was flowing in the canal and has almost removed all the small earth bridges over the canal. I was carrying a fairly medium rate of speed and had to bunny hop the canal

Had a meeting last week with the Army Corps here. They are just clearing and losing the dirt that was removed from the channel last year. In case of a major rain they need the spillway flat. And also clearing debris from their maint area in front of dam.

No changes from the tunnels to the golf shop in the near future.

Things have dried up nicely. All the bodies have been buried. Extra remains scattered around the really dangerous spots. Things are generally safe now. Thanks to all the shed blood, broke themselves, etc. FYI again. There is NO single track on the right up by the fence in Laguna Lake park. I know it looks like there is, but It's not really there. The Loop-gods have spoken. Ride there at risk to life and limb (or is it bike and rim Gettee?) I saw *someone* try to feed there arm to the fence. Also, there is a new "kicker" built up next to the golf course to watch for. If you're not a jumper go around it. As always, Thanks Dave!!

The downhill (Mormon hill) to Euclid has no lines. It's wide open, smooth, and the ski jump is fun, hit 35.2 mph on it.
The dirt they are adding behind the dam where the singletracks meet the fireroad, on the left hand side, has the makings of a nice drop.
Will have to check it out......to the left of the tree picture in post#44
