I remember my 9th grade gym teacher telling me that anyone over 220 was overweight and couldn't compete, much less at a world class level. So I asked him, "So, you mean like Franco Harris? He just stood there and looked dumbfounded. Then he told me to get in line and stop being a smart ass or else.
1) It was a valid question. If you want your own forum, you need to define your parameters. 2) My boyfriend is hardly "chubby," so screw you and the horse you rode in on.
yeah my P.E. teachers used to all talk crap about my size but when usc had me training with them my senior year with their defensive line they were all my buddies. strange how that works huh NOW THATS FUNNY.......
If I'm riding the horse then it better be a Clydesdale! Sorry Nerdgirl, I was joking and didn't realize you had such an aversion to fatties. 8-[ BTW, my standard for a Clyde would be anyone with a BMI of 30 or greater (I'm 40.9 BMI)
My suggestion would be to start a group like many others have : http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/groups/
I always wonder why we would need a Clyde forum. :-k I my self am a Clyde and I know a lot of others that fall into that category. So many that if you post a "Clyde" question in the regular threads it will get answered by other Clydesdale sized riders. It may also get answered by someone who is not a Clydesdale but knows what they are talking about.
You totally owe me a new keyboard because I just spit my Jello Snack Pack (swirls) all over it when I read your comment.
Just to set the record straight, the requirement to be a Clydesdale per all the races I've been in is 200lbs + and that's it. I weigh in at about 205-210 and I'm 6' 3". Some would say I'm not really a clydesdale but rules are rules. OBviously a very fit 20 year old that is 6'6" has a lot of potential in the Cyldes class. That's what makes it very interesting. Funny thing is they start us at the back of the pack. At Sea Otter with over 500 people in the class they started us behind the 60+ year olds, ahead of the girls and juniors. Man, I must have passed 150 riders on that course.
So is this gonna happen or what?:bang: How about a ClydeRyde to get things started.... what say you fellow large and in charge riders? And nerdgirl, relax. He was just having fun. You've been on STR since Sept 2009 , you know how the poo flings around here...I hope!
I've been eating a lot of Tink's baked goods so I think I'm back to my Clyde status. Can I come 1x1Clyde? Or is this ride only for "true clydes?" Haha maybe Tink can provide the food for this ride.
For the record it used to be 220 and still is at some venues for this very reason... This class was designed for EVERONE to get a fair chance at racing.
