I really like the 4 against 4 OT format, it is so much faster, it makes for some exiting hockey. The US played a great game, congratulation!!

That was an awesome game and the US team should not hang their heads at all. They played good all tournament and in my opinion pushed the Canadians to the edge. Silver is nothing to balk at especially when a few of the sports announcers out there were figuring we'd end up in 4th or 5th place over all. :bang::bang:

+1 to the last 2 comments...wish the US could have pulled it out. I'm just glad Getzlaf nor Perry got the GWG. Hahaha! Now let's get back to the NHL. Let's go Kings!

I agree. That game was great to watch. Wished it would've ended with a US win. The Kings were well represented with Quick, Brown and Johnson. It's gonna be a exciting run to the playoffs.

What a game tying goal with 24 seconds left that was! Damn, no gold but USA had a heck of tournament. Silver is a-ok. I loved the fight and grit they displayed throughout. Oh well, good for Canada and that stud Sidney Crosby. Go Pens! (east coast favorite)

Can't wait for the next Winter Hockey Games!

First home game (for me) since the Olympics... WOW!

    Kings 6 ... Columbus 0

*The Kings looked unstoppable (first 40 minutes) :bang:

*Frederik Modin (newest King... playing against his old team) made a huge impact in only his second game. Big shot. Physical player. Hard worker. Blended EXTREMELY well with his new line mates!!

*The US Women's Hockey Team received a HUGE round of applause!
I was about 35 feet from Julie Chu when she took the silver medal out of her pocket and showed it to the crowd. (Shiniest silver medal I have ever seen)

*If (3) players on any team try harder than Brown, Simmonds and Smyth, I would like to know their names! Their "extra effort" set-up soooo many scoring chances...

*Whatever they sprinkled in Frolov's drink last night- Have them do it again!

*I realize Doughty is only 20 years old- Wouldn't surprise me if he is a candidate for the 2010 Norris Trophy (leagues best defenseman). Before the Olympics, many felt he should have been left OFF the Canadian Olympic team... These same people now believe he was the teams best defenseman...

*I've never seen so many hockey NEWBS in my entire life. No doubt the Olympic BUMP had something to do with it!

*I have never before (at this time in the season) seen 40 people standing in line for Kings tickets.
    Still can't believe it!

    *Zippo was a no-show (yet again) 8-[

    Wednesday: Kings @ Blackhawks
    (Should be a good one)

I can't agree more. The chemistry and gritty style of play between Modin, Simmer and 'Zus is fantastic. WHEN we are in the playoffs, I believe this line will be the difference maker.

He's been playing with a fire ever since returning from the Olympic break. I believe his agent had a stearn talk with him about making the best of the remainder of this season in order to sign a 'healthy' contract. Can you say contract year???

    Great statement.

I can't wait for this game.

Wow the Kings looked flat tonight...but as Ryan Smyth said to Heidi post-game, "We're a good team," so at least there's some positive thinking there. They need to get it together, and don't let the kiddos down, cuz my Mite was bummed tonight!

Pretty quiet with the hockey talk around here... Come on folks, we are in the stretch drive. Do you think talking about the Kings could make their play as of late any worse? Really, I hope they can at least pull it together to make the playoffs.

No, because they can't play any worse. Atleast I won't have to see the Ducks in the playoffs! The Kings are dropping faster than a bag of rocks in the ocean. Come on Kings, pull it together!

The problem (I) have noticed with the Kings lately is their inconsistency!
One HUGE reason is the coaching staff has been juggling lines way more than I would like (during games). I'm certain the return of Williams has had "something" to do with it. By now, the coaches know who plays well together. If a line has a bad shift there is no need to start juggling!

If the season ended today, the Kings would play Chicago in the first round.
I'd rather have them drop to 8th and play the #1 team (San Jose). Yes, I said that!

Good News: The Kings have played (2) fewer games than Nashville...
Five points ahead and one fewer game played than 9th place Calgary... One point ahead of Colorado... One point behind Detroit (My point: They should make the playoffs). Doesn't mean I am happy about it!

Bad news: First time ever I have been down on "My Boy" Dustin Brown.
He has been playing flat! My second favorite Kings (Ryan Smyth) is in a funk as well (I blame the line juggling for his slump).

Whew...I'm gonna walk away for a few minutes! ](*,)

Don't get too down on D. Brown. I just think he's gripping his stick a bit too tight. Last game he had trouble pulling the puck out of his feet and burying one on the far post side. As either Jim or Bob said...I think his eye injury is not helping. Did you get a close look at his eye??? Even his eye ball showed signs of trauma.

I agree whole heartedly with Dino's comment about too much line juggling. Mixing up the lines from time to time to send a message to your team that no ones place is permanent can and has worked. But after a while, it's like the addage of the boy who cries wolf.

My concern is not with the Kings making the playoffs, it's about the teams momentum going into the playoffs. I must say no matter what, it's great to have the Kings in the hunt at this time of year. It's been WAY too long.

Was at Roscoe's until late... Heard the final score... Had to watch the 1:30am Fox Sports replay! #-o

Dustin Brown played well last night! His early season effort/intensity is still missing.
Tired? Mentally drained from the Olympics? :?:

They still look flat/sloppy! Would love for them to play the way they did the first month of the season!

    Saturday should be fun!

Go back to the land of the rising sun and watch some real hockey then. I love seeing slow 5' 8" Nippon bad asses embarass themselves.

Anyhow, I'm sure the Ice Girls are much better here. I believe you can Thank the LA Kings for starting this trend in "talented" ice cleaning crews.

    Go Kings Go.
