Can't. @ work with IE7 or IE8 and nothing. Had you opened it before the points were reported as missing? You might still have them in your cookies. I do believe i tried in Firefox at home too and i don't remember it working recently. Since its public, maybe you can safe the points again?

I opened it a looong time ago (haven't looked at it in a long while -- only did so recently when folks started complaining just to see if I could see them and I could). I just cleared "Everything" from Chrome and tried it again. Still there.

Sure enough... it worked this time. I better save these points to a personnal map for future access and no more problems on my end. Still on IE8.

Hey, can I request a trailhead add?

    +34° 1' 10.77", -117° 0' 0.06"

This is the gate to a new State Park (Wildwood) in Yucaipa. It used to be closed to the public (even though we two wheeled trespassed it a lot). Lot's of good riding in the myriad of trails but also a grueleing climb/descent loop up to the peak (Pisgah).

Any of the original collaborators still adding new trailheads? Doesn't seem like adding my own markers saves to the map, though I can move and edit existing markers at will. I have a few trails around the Perris to Riverside area I'd like to mark.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same behavior. I tried to add Quail Hill and Bommer Canyon trailheads and clicked "Save" and "Done". Refreshed the map and both were gone...](*,)

I know it's been a while since I posted this map. I just want to confirm that I am seeing the lack of ability to add more place marks as well. I'll look into the issue and see what's going on, we may have maxed out the inter-google's-mapper-database-who's-a-what'sit.

    Hey Folks,
I've spent some time cleaning up the map. I've removed the business and mapped routes along with other non-placemarks. I also cleaned up about 300 duplicates. The map is now 2 pages in length of trailheads in California, Nevada and Colorado. Please feel free to continue to add new placemarks in any state.
Some guidelines when adding a new trailhead:
    - Before adding a new placemark, scroll to the bottom of the placemarks list and check the other pages for duplicates. Unfortunately google maps does not let me sort placemarks by name.
    - Just add a placemark for the trailhead. No mapped riding routes or areas. This slows down the maps ability to render quickly. Link to another google map with the route if you want to provide that information.
    - If an area has multiple trailheads, please name each accordingly (ie: Mission Trails Main, Mission Trails West, Mission Trails Visitor Center)
    - Please include more information than just "Sweet Single Track". Links to park website, description of trailhead and tips for locating it are great info to add.
    - Please do not add businesses to this map. It's a trailhead map, not a local bike shop map.
    - Please do not edit the KML in Google Earth and re-upload it to make changes. I suspect this is how the 300 duplicate trailheads appeared.

Finally, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me.

    Thanks!
    Dave

Maybe I'm not doing this right....I click "Edit" button, add a placemark, type in a description, click the "Save" button. Refresh the browser and the placemark is gone. It doesn't seem to be saving the placemark I added. Am I missing something? ](*,)

Several of better-known OC trails are not on the map... is this on purpose?

Make sure to check all the pages of the map before adding a new placemark. The trail you're looking for may only show up when you go to page 2 of the trailhead list.

I'm thinking about splitting off trailheads by region so we don't have this problem.
For example: There would be a placemark for San Diego. In that placemark would be a link to another map of San Diego area trailheads. Then I would have another placemark on the Main trailhead map for say the Bay Area that would lonk to another map with just bay area trails marked on it. This would make the map much more user friendly and manageable for me.

    Thoughts?

Check page 2 maybe. If they're not there, you can add 'em yourself.

Yea, this is a problem. Seems OC can warrant its own map and the rest can fit on another. Riverside county trail markers are lacking in comparison.

People are KILLING me here. I took a minute to look at the map today. Someone decided to upload a track of some sort that added about 5 pages of ? placemarks.

If you can't figure out what you're doing, email me please.

you can also create your own map to experiment on.

    \rant

So to fix this I had to revert back to the saved version from Last week. Sorry if you added trails and they got wiped.
I need to find a better way to back the map up.... Might have to write a script that will download the KML daily and save a few weeks worth of revisions.... hmmm.
