It's all about hunger and desire to win a ring. So far, in this game, The Lakers have shown neither and Boston has shown a ton of both. Let's hope for a different 2nd half or Chick will be turning in his grave and screaming out "the jello is giggling, the eggs are cooling, the butter's gettin' hard..."

Kobe's name shouldn't even be used in the same sentence as Jordan's!

There's never a guarantee that any team will make it to this level, that's why you have to seize the moment and be ready to play every minute of every quarter of every game, MY Lakers(still) just simply didn't do that. Congrats to the Celtics.

It's disappointing, but this is more than I expected from the Lakers when the season opened. Congrats to the Boston fans, your team deserves this.

Hats off to Boston. They wanted it much more & plain ol' took it & made us look silly in the process. Congrats to Boston.

If the Lakers want to return to the finals, they need to make some big moves & move players who can't play defense. Maybe things are raw but as of right now, i'd keep Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Fisher & Turiaf & trade everyone else. We need big bodies to bang down low & players who can defend.
We went further then anyone exptected so looking at it from that prespective, we did well. We'll see what happens next year.

For all you Kobe haters coming out of the wood work, you obviously have no clue what you're talking about.

I'm surprisingly not altogether unhappy about tonight's outcome. I am disappointed about the way the Lakers performed, but the fact is, the better team won. This version of the Lakers just does not match up well with the Celtics.

In so many past Laker/Celtics finals, it seemed like the Celtics performed miracles as underdogs and usually had someone on their team that was easy to dislike. Red Auerbach, Danny Ainge (as a player), Cedric Maxwell; guys like that were easy to dislike and root against.

This year was different. The Celtics put together a monster of a team in an ubelievably short amount of time and they were the best team throughout the whole season.

Doc Rivers was absolutely a class act and was huge in keeping his team focused on the prize. He's not one to whine or make excuses. He just responded to the challenges that he and his team faced.

As a LFL, it hurts, but I'm not feeling robbed in any way. Congrats to the victors.
    ----------------------------
I think the Lakers have been both blessed and cursed this year, but the curse of this year may have set them up for success in the years to come.

Had Bynum not gone down, the Lakers would probably not have acquired Pau Gasol. So while his absence hurt in the playoffs this year, it was the impetus for the Gasol trade and I'm willing to accept the bad that came with the good. The 'good' being the future with Bynum at center and Gasol at power forward where he truly belongs.

I have always felt that young teams have to feel the hurt and disappointment of losing when they are deep in the playoffs in order have the drive, perseverance, knowledge and desire to win in the playoffs. Let's hope this, especially tonight's thorough arse-kicking, serves to be that experience

So here's to next year and hoping the Lakers take the initiative to grow into champions and as of right now, that road travels through Boston. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh yeah, :drunk: enjoy your stinkin' parade [-(
