    Not a cactus, grows in the pine needles and only grows in the higher elevations where there is snow.

    It is like a snow flower, just a little different from the ones I have seen.Alpine snow flower?????

    I'd guess Jimson Weed for the first (anybody remember giant moths at the top of Anaheim stadium?)
    and some type of Crocus for the second.

    it's some sort of a mushroom- I've got similar pics from Yosemite- they get a white or polka-dotted stock below them and can get to 6-9" in height. really "alien"

    . The first one is a monkey flower. But the second is called a margarita bop.And yes it is a pestemon
