The entire Santa Ana range is legal to ride at night. STT/Luge (after Nov 10), San Juan, etc. Plenty of great night ride opportunities

We need to catch the phantom pooper. Anyone have night vision goggles.
He must be doing it at night. If you roll up with bright hid lights he can see you coming and hide.

General guideline: the National Forests are open 24-7.

Some access is curtailed during certain hours--the road up to Chantry closes at 8 pm--but by and large the trails are open after dark.

I believe that access to Chantry continues after 8 pm, but you can't drive your car up to the parking lot.

Technically "closed" one hour after sunset. Always a few locals out there on any given night though.

I ride the SC Singletracks once per week at night. Its technical but super fun.

If you start at the Trestles parking lot you can start and finish right off I-5.

Ive figured it out so that Im barely touching any pavement and can connect trails from Trestles to SC Singletracks and back. Its fun a night

    Night ride - where?

Need to move to the next phase of riding - and add a night ride to my list of completed..

So where would be the best place to ride as a first time night ride?

I am in the Dana Point area, and ride Aliso as staple, but thats out of the question for night rides - or is it?

    Thanks/Paul

Aliso is NOT legal to ride at night.

What IS legal in the area? Blackstar, Santiago Truck Trail/Old Camp/Luge

For a first time night rider I would suggest Blackstar. It's nothing but a 7 mile fireroad climb and you can catch a singletrack on the way back down if you know where to look.

Hi Everyone, what about Vail Lake? Are they cool with night riding? I bought the
year pass because I live 15 minutes away from there. I am hoping it is a night time option because it gets hotttttttt out here in Temecula.

Also any lion sightings? I have seen them down the road at Dripping Springs in the Agua Tibia Wilderness area during hunting season.
I ride alone a lot so I should probably factor in the kitty quotient
    Thanks

Farm trails are a great place to night ride both the community trails and wilderness trails.

Does anybody know where you can go riding west of Whittier? Are the San Gabriel mountains good to ride, or did they burn down in the fires of last year? Where are the good trails near Whittier besides Turbull, Fullerton Loop and Chino?

Is Mount Lowe ridable, or did the fires from last year destroy the trails?

Monroe Truck Trail is just N. of the end of the 57. 20 min might be pushing it, but its not 30 minutes.

Unfortunately No. Ms. ranger kicks you out if you ride after dusk. PV website says Park Hours:Open from Dawn until Dusk.

Wildomar the Farm trails with excellent night vistas of the greater Temecula valley on one ridge than the eastern ridge of the canyon a grand vista of Menifee/Sun City/Perris. Some of the routes border urban terrain but mostly open land

Gotta be a little careful out there...according to my research the areas outside of The Farm are private and supposedly off-limits...you could get cited for trespassing if caught, even though its been rarely enforced.
