I bought an IH a while ago, but haven't riden it much. I got it cause I love ponies  Actually, it was a fun ride and I look forward to taking it out more when I can. Of course, I don't ride as hard as some of these guys---okay, I'm a wuss, but I still get on the damn bike As for Wikipedia, not sure what the real story is, but I'd search for other articles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia "Wikipedia's articles have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world and the vast majority of them can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet."
then why are you asking about IH hehe, I should make a crest for us Giant owners...Im still on a Stumpy but Im building a Giant now as we speak...
I don't know enough about bikes and gear to have a valid opinion on "good-better-best.....". But I can say that Dino was the very first STR person I met on my first STR ride. The guy exudes positive karma and made me feel very welcome. He is also a trailside public relations master for our sport. A lot of this brand chit chat and bashing is just good natured smack talk, nothing personal. R
I'll second that. He's a great PR guy for STR as well. As far as Iron Horse bikes go, I bought my MKIII Comp after a lot of research and "cost analysis". The DW Link just gets better with every ride and I've no regrets.
It's a really old bike. It's a '02 Warp DS2. Nearly every component has been replaced except for the suspension and conversion to disc. The question remains, should I continue upgrading since the frame won't die or just buy another bike.
That parking lot test is BS and is pretty much worthless IMO. Just ask any STR member and they would probably let you take their bike for a spin on the dirt. IH makes good bikes but so do several other manufacturers, you just need to test them out and pick the one that you like the best. Just ask and we can give you the Kama'aina bike test right COLEKO?:bang:

first of all just because they're not 4000 dollar bikes doesn't mean there bad. i beat the sh!t out of my IH i jump 26 foot gaps huck 5-12 foot drops and fly down hills and have no problems. i haven't even spent a grand on my bike yet and i still ride hard and do some stuff that people with there fancy bikes would never try and yes that might because im 16 and i do crazy stuff but it holds up fine. here's my lastest vids on my local DH sesh's riding my IH showing me falling:lol: and beating up my IH and yes my stem was loose and got tweaked in the crash, im the rider on the black bike with the triple. also here are some pics of me doing some jumps and a road gap. nothing against those who ride those 4 grand bikes but i think its more the rider then the price of the bike they're riding.saving money(cant wait for my next Iron Horse) **Sunday Elite** http://youtube.com/watch?v=TtwJ86AINkM http://youtube.com/watch?v=PqvI3EooSXw

Destroyer- Remember that day :-k :-k :-k when that hurricane force wind kicked up while you were in mid-air??? Weren't you commenting on how the "self- centering" feature of your bike probably saved your life? A trip down BAD memory lane! P.S.- Would love it if you met-up with us one weekend in Fontana!!!
I'm going to Fontana when STR next goes to Fontana! Destroyer is from the High Desert. May be the easiest ride spot for him to meet up with everyone! [-o-] Allison- With regard to your sticker- I'd better not say! 8-[
ive blown each one of those bikes proverbial doors off. we all know the DHE-8 is where its at. anyhow, ive ridden only one IH bike, the yazuka, i liked it.
my little cousin my little cousin recently got a new bike. IRON HORSE yakuza-the 24" wheel and 14" frame model chimpira? only 250 on amazon. Anyways, I'm just wondering what size bikes do 10 year old girls usually ride? She seems to have some difficulty riding it so i think it might be a lil too big. or maybe the fact that a 75 pound person is riding a 35 pound bike.
I think Sharky and Ryan are going to Fontana Friday. I've been there a few times this last month. I want to go this Friday but there is a new toy that just came in and needs assembly... Although I'm still keeping the horse for longer rides and dirt jumping. :drunk:
I've ridden a 2004 IH Hollowpoint for the last 3 years and loved it. THe only reason I recently changed to a Giant Reign was because Wheelworld had an awesome price on the frame and I had read everywhere that the Maestro suspension was as good as the DW-Link. Never had any problems with the Hollowpoint, climbed great, stayed active, and descended well.
