Default Project: make my bike look cool

hey guys, I'm starting a worklog here following my progress modifying the colors and parts on my bike. All I will be using is spray paint (except for the cranks which will be powder coated) and of course sanding and prep work. Photos will be posted of my progress until the bike is complete. Compliments are greatly appreciated and critisizm will be accepted haha.

What I plan to do:
Replace black grips with white
Paint spokes green
Paint fork lowers green
Paint rims white
Paint stem green
Add green cranks

This will all go good with my already navy blue norco rampage, and hopefully I can get my hands on an '05 IH 7point black and white frame and still everything will look great.

Why neon green and navy, again?

Looking forward to the project and finished product!

...it's not done yet

edit: the green isn't that weird in real life, it looks pretty sharp. I didn't feel like color matching.

heres the color I'm basing it off of:

with that seat position your stick man would smash his face in on a drop, good thing its just standing still

all kidding aside, why not just save your cash for the frame. I was going make my newly bought Trance all trick too, but I thought about the Reign that I wanted and just left it with its dimples and scratches, it adds character..

I needed the crank set anyways so bought a used pair on ebay, of which I think I am being reimburst for due to the sellers mistake of sending it to the wrong person and making me wait three weeks. And paint and new grips really isn't gonna cost that much.

edit: and cause I like painting and modding stuff. It's another hobby besides biking.

I think if you belong to any forum, this is your hobby.

update one:
the 888 wouldn't talk. So I took him out back stripped em, taped em, and roughed him up a bit.

I never noticed the curve on the fork before, it's pretty cool.

To be continued...

Make sure you clean the painting surface really good. I stripped my frame and repainted, but had some problems. I held the frame with my hand after coating 1 and the next coatings where i had held the frame left the paint all jacked. it "crackled" in those spots. if i could have done that look to the whole frame it would have been cool, but here and there didnt look so good.

good luck.

the forks chipping already believe it or not, but I think its a powder coat. If it chips, it chips, but it'll still work the same. Im gonna add a hefty layer of clear coat hopefully to prevent it. Worst case scenario: I sand it back down and get it powder coated.
