Default Stroker Trail vs Stroker Ryde

Does anyone know what the actual difference is between the Stroker Trail and Ryde versions?

All I can tell is that the Ryde is available with 8" or 6" rotors, while the trail is only available with 6" rotors. Other than that, they just look like different colors of the same thing.

Anyone know of other differences?

Not much on Hayes web site. Looks like the Ryde doesn't have the reach adjustment knob.

You can say that again. I've never seen such a fancy website that says so little.

Thanks for the info about the reach adjustment knob. I didn't notice that.

The Trails weigh 4 grams less, like denmother said, the Trails have a reach adjustment knob, with the Rydes you have to use a 2.5mm allen wrench. The Trails have a bigger pads(535mm vs 398mm) and pistons(24.12mm vs21.

The ryde is a no frills model that uses different pads and calipers then the higher end units and is generally intended as OEM. The Trail and Carbon have the reach adjustment and are offered as 6 or 7 inch front or rear kits if you can find them in stock. So far hayes has shipped out all sizes of the rydes, but only the grey 6in stroker trail to the vendors. You could always get a larger rotor and adapter if you want to go bigger. The white trails and the carbons should be in stock before the holidays, if you remind me I can let you know when they become available..

According to their website, JensonUSA has both the Ryde and the Trails in stock right now, both white and slate on the Trails.

Thanks for all of the replies. This is really helpful stuff to know as I plan on buying hydros of some sort down the line.

He's already got it in for warranty repair at Jenson. Let's see if SRAM gets back to them with these good ideas.

Good luck Aaron! Those Hayes Soles aren't looking so bad now, are they? jk.
