we use Hi-tech coating in Orange for the hard ano on our suspension pieces

if you can strip and polish the frame first and then get it ano'd it will come out a lot nicer
wouldn't they sandblast it similar to powder coating? I assume some prep work is involved on both processes, because the bike is currently painted or what have you.

You void the warranty by custom painting a Specialized as well, unless you go to one of their authorized places.

Just FYI.

If I keep my Demo, as soon as the warranty period is over and I have some $$, I'm going black/pink.
My friend rides an '07 Epic with a pink paintjob. Specialized made a limited run of 'em...

You've got to have skill to pull off that kind of a bike. He raced the Worlds (U23) in Spain, so he's earned the right to rock the pink bike. Every now and then, Fred's will try and talk shit, but he simply responds by dropping them. It's always best to let your legs do the talking.

Chicks can ALWAYS rock pink. I'm not worried about that.

JimN used to ride a pink Dean SS. I don't believe he's ever raced a World's, but he can hold his own.

Hopefully they would chemically strip the current paint. That is what Olympic did to my frame prior to powdercoating it. Sandblasting can enlarge pivot bores, bearing seats, etc. and generally screw up tolerances elsewhere on the frame. On bikes with thinner tubes, you also run the risk of weakening the frame.

There was a thread on the Turner forum a while back about someone who had some problems after getting his frame sandblasted and PC'd.

Pink is a badass color, plain and simple.
