that's sad to hear about. I wonder why such a small demo fleet. from previous years he's always brought a lots of bike for demo. wonder what happen to all bikes he had at IB and THC . oh well his loss

Turners require purity of soul for them to truly perform...obviously yours is not so... Ok, joking aside, DT is seriously a good egg when it comes to our sport. If some folks feel they were dissed by DT & crew they have a website that will take your comments and a phone # that they actually answer! Feel free to vent. I, for one, will evangelize for them until I find a better product. Is it that that all the cool kids wanted to ride a Turner, and got pissed when they couldn't?

If it turns out the stock one needs replacing I'll probably have to save up some money for one

Looks like a solid build Marty. I went with SRAM on my RFX except for the FD. XTR seems to be overkill for a 6in trailbike. I run King headsets on both my RFX and 5Spot with no creaking. I just switched to Hope Moto 6's on the DHR and I'm going to put Hope's on the other 2 bikes soon.

not very good customer service
I was out for 3 runs Sat on the DHR & loved it. All the guys asked for feedback including DT compared to last years DHR. I had some pivot play on my '06 and Greg is sending me some new shock bushings for free. Sorry you guys had a bad experience with them.

A Turner ride sounds good Craig, post it up.

I just built up a RFX this week, let me know if you want to ride it before spending money. I am off work at 2pm and live in Laguna Beach.

I have to say I am with on all but the Marz... The Formula's are probably the best brakes I have riden and I have tried a few.(currently, soon to be replaced Haynes on the yeti, Magura MArta SL on the RIP, Formula on the ONE9, had juicey's on my last yeti) The formulas simply modulate the best and provide increadible stopping power when you need it. Wheels, you just can not go wrong with a good set of hand crafted wheels, and the fork I am all over the map with what I am running from Maverick to Manipoo, had RS but never much experience in the Marz dept, so I can not really comment on that...

Sounds like a great build regardless

Frame: RFX
Fork: Fox VAN 36 RC2 or Marzocchi
Headset: CK
Wheels: Crossmax SX
Tires: Kenda Nevegal
Bars: Eason Carbon DH bars - The RFX will beg for tech trails and the chances of scoring the carbon are good. Go aluminum.
Grips: ODI
Stem: Thompson
Seat post/Seat: Thompson/Turner
Shifters: SRAM
Rear Derail:SRAM
Chain: SRAM
Crank: FSA Gravity light w/MRP LRP
BB: FSA Platinum pro
Pedals: Mallet C
Brakes: Hope M4 w/gold anodized caps and rotor carriers
Cassette: XT

If I could change only one thing it would be the fork for sure. You don't want a 6.4" bike with a weight weenie fork. Enjoy.

I agree with most everyone else who recommended a different fork. I ran a 36 Van on mine for quite awhile and loved it but opted for the '07 66SL for some travel adjust. The Van is definately more plush, but I have grown very fond of the ATA on my Zokie. I would opt for a Hope headset, especially if you are running a medium frame. The stack height of the Hope is taller so you won't need to run a thicker crown race to avoid fork/downtube contact. I run Hopes on all my bikes, love them. I have M6's on my RFX and had M4's before which are now on my Spot.
