Default Roco or DHX "pushed"

Anyone know which would be better for an I.H. Sunday? Marzocchi Roco WC or Fox DHX Coil after being serviced at "Push".

I just had my DHX PUSHed for my M3 just in time for the Mammoth trip last weekend, and it worked good for me.

But honestly, although I was able to feel a difference with the modified shock, I think that all the shocks on the market work well when properly set up. No, I don't have any experience with some of those shocks, but I probably wouldn't notice a significant difference, nor would it make my ride more or less enjoyable.

Well now that Push isn't offering the "race" version mods to the DHX I would say go for the Rocco. Ride it awhile and see how it feels, then send it to Push and be prepared to get wood.

Add it up.

Once you buy a Roco, get it Pushed, wait for all this to come in and get done you could of just ordered a CCDB.

I have tried the Factory Race DHX, Avalanche, DHX air and the stock DHX coil on my Turner. The CCDB is, buy far, the best of the bunch.

SSINGA, I know you love the CCDB, but it may not be the best recommendation in this case (IH Sunday). Here's some info from the monster Sunday thread over on Ridemonkey.

Cane Creek/Ohlins Bouble Barrel
NOTE: this shock requires a "Sunday Tune" to work effectively. As of (06') Ohlins has not devised such a tune but may offer one in the future
Quote: Lars Tribus ran the DB on his Sunday for a bit this year (06), & although he was not able to get it totally dialed to his liking, we think that it can be done with a little more tuning (changes to shock internals). - dw

I ran the stock DHX on my Sunday for a while, then sent it to Push. It was a significant improvement. I'm putting on the Roco WC (with the Factory Race System) I just got back from PUSH this weekend, and should have some thoughts on it next week.

In the meantime, I'd suggest calling Push and talking to them. They have experience tuning shocks for the Sunday and can probably give you the pros and cons for both the DHX and the Roco WC.

Another option is the new Rock Shox Vivid. It has adjustments for beginning stroke and ending stroke rebound, compression, and three different hardnesses of bottom-out bumper. It will be available with various preset damping configurations. Tune "A" is for the Sunday.

I would have never seen it on Ridemonkey -just can't stomach the attitudes over there. Anyway - good info.

Two of The Path race team members have been using the CCDB on their Sundays.

I'm with Lee, I couldn't tell much difference between the DHX and Pushed DHX Factory Tuning on my 7Point.

So far on the 7Point I have used:

5 Element - Great pedaling, just ok DH.
Roco RC - Pedaling not so good, very plush DH.
DHX/Pushed DHX - good pedaling, good DH.
Roco TST R - good pedaling, plush DH.

If your Sunday comes with the DW-Link tuned DHX, I say give that a shot for a while.

Good luck.

I don't know. If you can stomach the MTBR Turner forum, everything else is rather tame.
