Default marzocchi 888vf fork 170mm

will a 170mm marzocchi 888vf fork work on a 07 specialized rockhopper comp disc.? or will it throw off the geometry of the bike? what would the problems be? thanks.

Not sure if the geo is going to change. If I had to bet I would say yes. That's one hell of a fork to put on a hardtail though. I have a 05 888 rc on my DHR and I had to special order flat stanchion mounts to bring the handle bar altitude down a bit.

Any fork with more than 5" of travel is gonna throw off the geometry and handling of that bike terribly, don't do it.

No, Yes, Bad handling. Possible frame-breakage.
