I rode up here in NorCal yesterday with a guy on a vintage GT with Spin 3-spoke wheels! I was having flashbacks to the '90s.

The only drawback is when you want to mount a new tread you have to heat it with a fire. Not good in the NF.

Well - I doubt I could afford them anyway. I just thought the looked good on my SE PK Flyer when I was a kid.
Got my eyes on the Crank Brother Rims when they come out!
