I am running a Path Bash Ring on the RIP9. with a 32. Simply unbolted the big ring and rebolted the ring in it's place. Did not even have to take off the crank arm

My 42 tooth big ring on my RIP has become a bash ring. With that low bottom bracket I now have broken off many teeth.

In my opinion, if you're on a FR or AM bike where you need/want a bash guard/ring, the 32 isn't enough for the downhills. I went with a 36 on my VPX, and I'm very happy with that plan. The only thing that seems strange, is that I tend to get confused. What do I mean? For example, when I'm in the 36 up front and a 34 in the back, I can't understand why it's so hard to pedal up some hills, until I remember that it's a 36 and not a 32. No big deal, but it is something I wonder now and then.
