When looking for a new rear suspension, what do the sizes mean? (6.5x1.5 for instance). do i need to look for "MY'' bike specific size or is it universal? do they all pretty much fit?

first # is the measurement of the i2i [eye to eye] of the shock, the 2nd is the measurement of the stroke. yes you need to look for a specific size for your bike. you "might" also need different sized shock mounting hardware for your bike.
