Bikes don't kill bunnies

You might want to keep an eye on the Transition site, specifically, this page: https://www.transitionbikes.com/Stor...}-59332809&C=5 Those are the older style prestons, but who knows what might pop up on there once the 08s start hittin the shops.
If you like the Preston, save until you can get one. If you only liked it because of the price, keep an eye on Wheel World's page as they're starting to blow frames out this time of year. Good luck, Chris |

I build jumps

Thanks Chris, I called them but they said they don't do the model year thing. They just update the frames when they feel it's time to update something. I've been watching wheel world and price point everyday. I figure I'll just keep saving although the Preston is pretty closely priced to the Bottle Rocket and I wouldn't have to buy a new headset with the Bottle Rocket. Sometimes I hate making choices....

If you could swing the geo on a 16" reign, wheelworld has em, and you can't beat the price. For that matter, I don't know if a "whole Bike" type deal is in your price range, but PacMan's Reign in the "marketplace" section seems like a killer deal.
Back to Transition, if you are looking at maybe going Bottlerocket over the Preston, you DEFINITELY need to look at the Soul Cycles Matador I mentioned earlier in the thread. It's geo is very similar to the BR, it weighs less than either the BR or the Preston, and comes in with 5" of travel with a 2" rear shock. The retail price on Soul's site plus the Rocco R Air would put you right around $900, which would leave room to pick up a decent 1.125 headset. Soul sells those at a very fair price and can do installation before shipping the frame so it's ready to be put together when the box shows up on your doorstep. I won't be getting out to any rides until my wrist heals up, but if you ever find yourself in the Long Beach area, hit me up and you can take it for a spin around the block to check the fit. Chris |

Bill would poach it

If you decide on a preston don't get an 06 frame ( 1.5" stroke shock ) the new frames have a 2" stroke shock giving it a much better leverage ratio. I have an 04 Dirtbag and love it. The preston weighs the same as a dirtbag and will probably climb a little better, but a new DB with a roco tst would be the sh!t on the downhill. I do 20+ mile rides on mine and it weighs 43lbs. A 37.5lb dirtbag or preston would be the perfect "one" bike.
