Ha, don't listen to all the OC guys! There are some good shops here in North County as well. If your looking for deals, then OC it is, unless you want to go to Beyond Bikes....... Enough said. If your looking for mechanics or the odd part check out Pacific Coast Cycles in Oceanside, Chuck the owner is a very cool guy, and VERY knowledgeable. Just don't let him talk you into putting drop bars on your 29'er.... you'll see what I mean if you go there. http://www.socalmtb.com/shops/opensh...cal&lbs=sd__12

Or Bicycle Warehouse in Vista is a good option as well, but repairs and service are never very quick, but they are usually very good. In South county check out Cal Coast Cycles, Charile is the owner very cool guy, or Zumwalts Bicycles, Rich and Eric will go out of there way to please a customer. And I've had good luck with B&L as well. I know I'm forgetting some, but this is a good list to go off of.

There's also CycoPath in Temecula on Rancho California Rd. and I.E. Bikes in Murrieta. Both are great shops and are not too far of a drive.

Since you'll already be in the area, you should also check out Switchback Cyclery on Chapman in Orange, not far from Adrenaline and The Path. Tim and Sherry are the owners and members of the Warriors Society. They have Trek, Santa Cruz, Felt, KHS and Gary Fishers, Tell them Gene sent ya.
