started using http://www.rocklube.com/ lube a while back and been happy with it. Pricey, but overall impressed. I used white lightning for years and still do on other bikes, but the wax buildup was getting to me.

I've been using Rock n Roll Gold for a couple of years now and love it.
The Path owner Tani had this to say about chain lubes a couple of months ago: Quote:

Tried all the others, Rock n Roll Gold seems to work best especially for our dry, dusty conditions!

Using both Rock & Roll and ProLink Gold... both seem to work very well here in SoCal. Hard to go wrong with either.
Also love the needle applicator you can get through ProLink. OMR

In dry conditions, I use Rock n Roll Gold and I apply before every ride. The stuff stays really clean. Get a stiff bristle brush and spend a few minutes brushing your chain, chainrings, Der pulleys, and rear cogs before you apply the lube. The old lube and dirt come off very easily. A clean drivetrain will last longer and give you less troubles.
I carry lube in my Camelback and on longer rides sometimes I have to stop and lube up again. |

WD40 is not really a lube at all. It is really good at displacing water though and is a pretty good solvent. I spray it inside the frame on my cromo bike. I do love the stuff so here are some googled facts. WD-40 stands for "Water Displacement, 40th attempt", a name which came from Larsen's laboratory notebook. Larsen was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion by displacing water, and arrived at the formula on his 40th attempt.[1] A common myth is that "WD" stands for "war department". WD-40 was first used by Convair to protect the outer skin of the Atlas missile from rust and corrosion. The product first became commercially available on store shelves in San Diego in 1958. Typical uses of WD-40 around the home include:

I use spit. Really, though, there is this Boeing stuff that works really well. I think it's called Boetec or something. You can huff it, too. Stoked.
Also you don't need an apostrophe to pluralize the word "lube" just so you know...just trying to save you from coming off like a dumbass in the future. Sorry.
