gotta catch em all
|
I recently bought a norco rampage on ebay, which has still yet to arrive, but the anticipation is killing me. The problem is, is that it comes with a marz 888 and I know that is too much fork for me. I don't plan to be doing much downhilling around here (rockbeds aren't my thing) and don't want to lug a fork that big up the mountain.
I was thinking of trading the fork, but don't know what I can expect to get. Maybe a marz 66 or some sorts or a fox float or vanilla. Basically I don't want to spend any more money, but want the best fork I can get. Most of the riding I do would be considered all mountain and freeriding. So basically, what should I expect to get in a trade and what should i aim for? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=002 |

Assuming you'll be using the bike for climbing I would say you'd be plenty happy with a 140mm fork such as a Pike. Since it already has a 20mm hub I would stick with a 20mm axle fork. The 888 is the VF model which is the cheap one so I wouldn't expect to get a whole lot for it depending on its condition. I've seen '05 888 RC (the good model) selling for under $500 brand new.....there are still some new ones floating around I believe. You'd be lucky to find somebody wanting that fork for a trade so I would probably just sell it on e-bay.
