Default Disc Brake Rotor Design Question

What is the bolt circle diameter for the rotor to hub mount (i can measure that if no one has the spec)

Also - WHAT material are they made out of? Just steel? (they dont rust tho!) coated/plated or stainless?

Have friends with a laser cutter.... and i have CAD skills

any info would be appreciated

Default Disc rotor specs...!

BCD 44mm, thickness generally 1.7mm but Magura used to go to 2.0mm. Material is usually Stainless Steel, Stan's Race Rotors are aluminum and require specific pads. Titanium rotors have been rumored for a long time, but the warpage/special pads/torque resistance vs thickness may have killed 'em. In past years you could order rotors thru Hope with your name cut into the braking surface; maximal gheyness.

Wonder if a rotor with STR programmed into it as cooling holes would sell?

Default Brake Pads?

Organic, sintered and metallic still rule the bicycle world, at least until Interbike...

My Tektro rotors have "Stay Off My Loop" cut into them, they are carbon fiber also.

Good rotors are made from a SS mix to get the best properties. Cast iron is the best but the rust factor is a turnoff.
One of the most important steps is a double disc grinding process to insure that the rotors are flat and the sides parallel to each other. Just cutting a rotor out of some SS will not yield a usable product. The run out would be excessive.
