Default Brake lever pin missing

A pin seems to have disappeared from my brake lever during my last ride. Now my rear brakes will not engage. Good thing it happened at the end of my ride...LOL

I have a hydraulic brake system that came with the bike. According to the bike mfr website the brake lever is: Tektro Auriga Comp hydraulic.

Does anyone know if the pin that fell out is a replaceable part?? The other brake lever pin does not have any screw or allen bolt head on it. So not sure how the pin stays in place.

Any thoughts??

Hard to say since Tektros are on the low end of the hyd. disc brakes... might want to see if you can email Tektro direct and see if they can send you a pin or maybe replace the whole lever....

worth a shot...

Sounds like the pins just pushed and riveted in, not really set screwed, etc

Well i since i purchased the bike at JensonUSA Ontario, I called them and asked them about the problem. Apparantly Tektros brake levers have this issue according to Jenson... its under warranty and will be replaced free of charge, however i could be without my bike for 2-3 weeks... ouch.

i think i'll just put a bolt into the hole so the lever will pivot and engage the brake...

Try the bolt for now, but give Tektro a call.
