Default Avid Codes & Hope Motos

I'm currently using Hayes Mags on my DHR, stopping power is good but lately they fade a little on longer DH runs. Anybody running either of these systems that can give some feedback? Only interested in the above 2 systems por favor.

Include Formula's line if you have used them.

Frank, not sure about the downhill thing, but my Formula Oro Puros are by far the best brake I have ever used.

Formulas look very promosing, and they seem to be the new HOMER brakes of choice... but I love my Hope M6s man.
They are super strong and modulate really well!
IMO nothing compares to the Hope brakes when it comes to bling factor.

I had a set of M4 Mono's a few years ago that leaked right out of the box. Luckily the Hope tech was at Big Bear and he was able to replace the seals on the spot. After that I never had a problem with them, good power and modulation. I'm considering go back to Hopes. The only problem is getting parts.

I have no experience with the Codes, but my new M6's are crazy powerful and modulate very well as Rodel mentioned. The new levers are fantastic, and very adjustable. Also they are the easiest brakes to bleed if you ask me. Expensive? Yes, but consider they come with steel braided lines and 2 piece rotors standard if you get the M6. I use Hope brakes on all of my Turners, that is all I will say

Those Hope brakes are sooooo sweet looking. I am longing for a set of the new M4 with the Moto levers. Then I'd have to get orange bore caps made.

I have the Codes on my dirtbag and the mags on my fivespot ( with an 8" rotor on the front). I used to think the mags were OK. Now I hate them. After riding the dirtbag exclusively for about 2 months I took the fivespot to Aliso yesterday. In comparison the mags absolutely blow ( because of the fading, lever comfort and power or lack there of). The codes are true one finger brakes. They never require alot of effort for full power and are very comfortable with a wide stock lever. At speed the codes modulate perfect. On slow tech sections with steep rock rolls the rear is grabby. I wiegh about 180 geared up so I think a 6 or 7 inch rear rotor would work out better for me. If cost was no object I would get the hopes for bling only, anything more powerful would be overkill for me. BTW the Galfer DH pads on the mags make them suck a little less.
