ive got a bar mount that fits my cannondale and road bike, but i recently began riding my specialized p2 alot more, and the bars are massive, so the mount doesnt work. began brainstorming. looking for a way to mount my lights, i discovered the fender mount holes on the marz z1 bombers. eureka i exclaimed! so i went to work finding a suitable material to make a mount out of. it was about 11:30 at night, so metal working was out of the question, and i didnt have any thin aluminum, i chose lexan. rough cut, shape, melt, shape, cut, shape, measure, melt, heat, rough up, paint and here she is. also made a 2 light mount out of a strip of aluminum. also, the 1st pic if of just 1 light on 12w setting.

i want one!...car pool buddy ol' pal. I can definitely relate to the problem, the mount i have I had to take one of the screws off that that it would point to the right...it dosen't fit lower on the bars where it's nice a straight, only on an angle.
Very cool. Suggest you patent it...before someone else gets the idea

First thing you do it type your idea down with as much detail as possible. Then mail it to yourself..Do Not Open. Now continue perfecting your idea, then regerster it with the U.S. Patent office. It's not too complicated. You can probably get everything you need off the internet.

Great idea!
That's a good, solid mounting area, too. The only possible downsides I can see are: 1. The light may be too low, which could cast shadows over ditches, holes, etc. 2. When you turn your bars around, the light may hit the frame.

good eye lee, both of which are a concern. i snapped the mount off last night actually doing an x-up at the park. made another. and the light casting shadows im not really to worried about, because its better than no light.
3. front brake cable gets in its way and vise versa. i think version 2 will mount to underside of stem. but it will also be aluminum.

Good idea.
I wonder for those of us that don't have fender mounts if we could drive a star nut in from the bottom to mount the light. I know that you would have to drive it out to get the upper star nut out, but how often do you have to remove star nuts? Dean

I'm going to laugh when you're going 40 down a hill and fwap! your light drops and gets thrown forward and there you are looking at it fly away, but it's on and now it's coming ... Smack! right in the kisser.
sorry ryan, first mental image when i saw the mount.

Seriously Ryan that did give me a great idea for a universal mounting bracket and I have some friends that are machinists and could built it out of aluminium...when I make a million I will give you credit....

shu, your the better man, i back down. its all yours. lol. SIKE! a cnc'd one would be killer. if it goes through, i want one. im going to make the same thing out of some aluminum tomarrow hopefully. cmon man, kick me down with a little cash!!!
dean, that would also work, but i think it would move around not being secured in more than 1 spot. maybe some kind of tabs to keep it from rotating? pakiha, i just hope your behind me when it happens...
