Default Paging Push'ed DHX owners....

On my last ride up on the Plunge my DHX felt harsh and I felt all the hits riding down through the rock gardens as if the rebound is ramping up. Is there a easy way to adjust/test it b4 I send it off to Push? Thanks in advance.

im not too sure if there is anything else you can do besides adjust the preload on the coil and play with the rebound dial settings. i can vouch for a push'd dhx, i rode robs 6pack which has a push'd dhx and it really tracks the bumps well and stays glued to the ground much better than a stock dhx.

Franky,
I'm not clear what you mean by the rebound ramping up. Was the bike riding too low in its travel? Do you have too much rebound? (suspension slow to rebound) I have thought of sending my DHX to PUSH, but quite honestly, I have no complaints how it is currently (although truthfully, I don't really pay attention to what my bike is doing, I just try to ride the crap out of it).

I usually set up my rebound so that it barely slows the bike down (when coming up) when doing a seat-push test. The next test is usually done on jumps, but I still haven't done that with my M3 yet. Even still, this isn't a great test, since I can usually adapt to a bike that wants to buck (shift more weight to the rear), unless it's really bad.

Anyone know the turn around time for sending a shock to PUSH. My buddy just bought a 5 spot with a DHX air about 2 months ago and it is oozing gunk all over the place. He doesn't want to get it looked at because he wants to ride this summer, but I keep telling him he's doing more damage by riding it. I know it should be under warrantee if it goes back to Fox, but I've also head horrible stories about their turn around time.

Lee, not sure what the correct term is but it feels like the shock isn't rebounding fast enough. B4 getting serviced the stock DHX felt like it wanted to buck you over. After getting the DHX Pushed last year it felt super plush and floated over any bump and rock, now it feels dead. My friend did the seat push test and said it felt like when his Romic went dead on his DHR. I did plenty of rock testing last Sat and it just doesn't feel right.

Push gave me a RA to send it in today so I guess it's going back.

Is your sag correct? If so, it sounds like it should go back to PUSH.

I wonder if it just lost it's nitrogen charge... Did you check the pressure in the boost chamber?

Let us know what Push sez about it

Sounds like I could make some money renting out my old Romic.

Keep us posted on what PUSH finds out with your shock. The dead feeling is completely normal when doing "the seat" test, so I would not even go by that at all. PUSH had set my rebound knob 3 clicks from full "slow", and I have since gone to 5 clicks from full slow. It feels like it absorbs the hits at high speeds the best and the way the shock works it will not "buck" you on a single big hit/jump landing. Reason I am interested in what they find is that I don't know if it is my imagination but my shock has been feeling slightly harsher to me at high speeds compared to when it was new so it could be early signs of something going wrong.

Update: I mailed the shock last Monday and heard back from Push today. They didn't find anything out of spec but they went ahead and rebuilt it & ran it thru their dyno. Weird b/c the rebound knob was stuck when I sent it in but they were able to cycle thru the settings.

I should be getting it back in a few days for the trail test.
