nines are alright...i've had some fade problems in the past for long descents but they were fine on sat on SJT. i don't have personal experience with the el caminos but i've heard it's a hit or miss

Stay away from the el camino's. Heard more bad than good about those. If youre on a budget, you cant go wrong with the juicy 7's. If u want some freeride bling, check out the avid codes. And then go get yourself some dangerboy levers for good measure.

they probably fine now...that was mostly when they first came out. 220 is a good price. they're probably getting rid of stock for these new Strokers

Juicy 7's are much nicer than Hayes HFX 9's. Better modulation and stopping power. Just my $.02. BTW I have HFX 9's on my bike.

I've been riding my Hayes 9s pretty hard for about a year and a half and had no complaints at all. They're not super light, if you're worried about that, but folks say they're a real work-horse brake. I'd agree.

Those strokers look slick. They look like XC oriented brakes though. I don't know if that means they can't be a good all-mountain brake. It just might mean they're lighter and therefore more expensive.

The magura marty's looks like they're in the same class. Pricey, but nice looking and very light.

Interesting design. Only thing that bugs me at a glance is that it looks like you'd have to remove four small allen bolts on the master cylinder to bleed them, instead of just pulling a little plug like on the Nines. Maybe I'm missing something? They seem to have a sort of fragile look to them too, but maybe that's just me.

I do like their claims about bigger pads, insulation on the pistons, and a better master cylinder design, all to help with heat management. Nice.
