Bikes don't kill bunnies

Does anyone have a good idea of the differences between the 06 Fox 36RC2 and the 07? I ended up selling my Vagrant frame with my old 66RC2X, and now I'm on the fence between the fox and a zoke 66RCX. I can get either make in an 06 for about the same coin, but was curious to know the difference between last year's 36 and this year's version.
I liked the 66 I had, but the quick loss of a pound by going with the 36 has me thinking I might try the Fox. But before I go the Fox route, I wanted to make sure there weren't any "issues" with the 06 36s, and if they were already obsolete compared to the 07 version. Thanks in advance, Chris |

I didn't say I was looking at a Totem, 66 SL, or an 07 36RC2
And compared to the guys with multiple Turners in their stables, and any one of them being spec'd better than what I'll end up with, trust me, I'm still pretty low on the bike snobery scale. I mainly wanted to make sure there wasn't some glaring issue with 06 36s before I laid down the $$$. If the fork has issues that Fox doesn't covery via warranty, I won't have the coin to replace it.Chris |

2007 Talas RC2: 100mm-130mm-160mm adjustable travel, 5.27 lbs
2006 Talas RC2: 110mm-150mm in 3 mm increments, 5.23 lbs As far as I know the dampening cartrige is the same or similar on both models. 2005 and later Fox forx are solid performers. Unless you want a faster travel adjust or need that extra 10mm of travel (0.39 inches) then you should be happy with the 2006 36 Talas or Float |

No worries Waldo.
Kinda figgured you were funnin around. Hopefully I get shipping confirmation on the 07s later this afternoon. I must admit I'm a little worried I won't like the 36 as much as the 66, but I figgured at the price I was able to get, if I'm not stoked on it, I could sell it and be able to pick up a clean 66RC2X. Plus this way I answer the, "I wonder if the 36 is as nice as everyone says it is" question that was floating around in the back of my head ![]() Chris |

Guero,
I'm actually buying a Fox this time around (I hope I don't regret it compared to my old 66RC2X). I've never ridden a 66SL, but that RC2X I had was very inspiring. I haven't heard that much good press about the SL/ATA setup, so you might want to do a little research in that direction. The coiler is no dainty girl, so I'd just get the RC2X and love the plush. The only reason I'm going with the fox this time is because I want to try and shed a little weight off my ride, and I KNOW what the 66 feels like and have been wondering how the 36 would work. I'm a fat bastard, so I don't run into many people with the 36s setup with the right spring to give it a fair shake against my previous 66. As for pricing on the 66, the Path had a takeoff sitting on the rack at something like 647 which seems fair. A couple weeks ago, there were some good "new in box" deals on Ebay, but I think spring has sprung and parts prices are on the rise again. I almost forgot, I believe I saw that Adrenaline had some 05 66s (RC not RC2x) listed on their in-store flyer. The only downer to my way of thinking on the 05 is the taller AC height. Hope that helps, Chris |

The good news is that I might have located a brand new set of 07 take offs for $500. Box,paperwork, warranty, etc. Sound like a good deal?
