Or you could go Zoke and not have to worry about it...

my 2 sents is that you DO NOT USE super glue, you shood not use locktite.use graese on the threads titen acordingly.then titen the fork axle clamp bolts, witch in turn hold the axle and axle nut in place.the axle clamp puts pressure on the axle itself and keeps everything tite.you motocrossers shood no this.my bill is in the mail.

If you are too cheap to buy loctite (by the way it comes in a gel too which is kinda handy) concentrated sugar water works too, but doesn't hold quite as well.

I assume you're not familiar with this fork. The cap is not like an axle on a dirt bike (I have a Fox 40 and a CRF450). The other end of the axle threads into the fork leg. The cap with the hex opening is normally bonded (via threads) to the main axle. It's not an axle nut. If anything, it's like the "hex nut" part of an axle for an XR, if you're familiar with those.

When it all works properly, when you unthread the cap with the hex (where you put a hex wrench), you unthread the axle. When the cap disconnects from the axle, as the problem here, there is no way to loosen the axle from the fork. It doesn't just slide out, you have to turn it to unthread it, and the hex is used to unthread it. Make sense now?

BTW, any update on this?
