Default seats?

Anyone suggest a good seat. I have never been happy with the Specialized seat that came on my bike, and now after a year and a half it is downright painful. I want something relatively light, comfortable, and cheap.

Second the WTB saddles, almost all have worked great for me. My favorite is the Stealth. But I sometimes buy the ones that are in the mark down bin as they may not hold up as long, they are usually dirt cheap.

I'll third WTB. Been running a Laser V Team for some time now, and love it. Exceptionally comfy for its very light weight, it performs equally well on extended climbs and long descents.

I have ran the WTB Stealth V for 3 years now and have loved it! It's about time to replace it though since it's starting to break down and loose the love channel effect and creating numbness on long rides. GREAT SEATS!!!

haha, this is a funny thread. The first thing i would have said is not WTB. I hate them. Some of you may laugh, but they have too much padding for me. I prefer something with an appropriate shape and a good pair of shorts. My only recomendation so far is Tioga Spyder, but only as an XC saddle.

B-rad, you're definitely going to be in the minority here. I like WTB, also and it seems like 75% of all mtbers I see out there have a WTB saddle on their bike. So... make of that what you will.

asses are clearly a matter of preference

I agree that a comfy seat gives you support for your sit bones....

but that seat looks like an asshammer

Me too. I have a Rocket V Stealth that is a torture device.
I love the Selle Italia Flite Gel Ti seat.
