Thanks to sarsBOATS I now have a new thing to ponder...
and lynx, not so much rock-it though, not enough studder bumps to miss the huckler on that trail.

First, I should say I'm new to the whole single speed thing so take my advice lossely. That being said, my chain was way loose on my single speed road bike, I took two links out (I had to take 2, since it was some kind of BMX chain), which made it way too tight. So I solved the ish by aligning the wheel in the horizontal dropouts to where it would snug it up. That meant the wheel wasn't all the way snug in the back of the drops but rather about halfway. But it's cinched down tight and seems to do the trick. I wouldn't recommend this for a performance-oriented SS mountain bike but if it's just a city cruiser roadie this seems to work fine and less hassle than getting another chain, etc, etc. Eh...wha do I know. Chime in anybody if there's a good reason I shouldn't have done it this way. I feel like that's what the horizontal drops are for with SS bikes, for that adjustment. It's either that or buy a chain tensioner.

most def bring your own stuff you worked on and got tight the way u want it. I checked one of them out once a while back for a "gag gift" and it was amazing to see how long it took to get right, so i just aborted. i am not a perfectionist but as i am sure you know by your job once you make one mod everything else is impacted. Not sure what design packages they use or can accept but probably worth a shot if you dont want to buy sticker design app/software

Rolling on 29" dubs!

i have broken many shimano and sram chains....i personally feel the suck for ss use. also, the shimano and sram offerings stretch way too much for me.
if you do go sram, get an 8 speed chain or one of their ss chains. i personally use a cheap ass $10 bmx kmc z chain from my lbs, i think it's a 1/8" chain. heavy, but it hasn't stretched much and hasn't broken on me. the box is exactly like the one you have pictured (but no purple in my bike). also, not all ebb's are equal. some allow for a larger spread of gearing. i think the rig ebb isn't as "good" as the niner or bushnell ebb is terms of gearing range. 2 teeth on your rig sould be no problem though. go to niner bikes website, i think they have a page for ebb set up....it should help you.

i got the hook ups on the purple chain
i know that you are thinking 2 teeth might not be an issue, but i believe that is the issue, i rotated the EBB all around and wasn't successful, i did actually get it on, but it was way to tight so i immediately took it off. i hunted around the niner site and didnt see anything that pertained to my minor problem.
