Default XTR/Dura-Ace Chain

Wow!

I just recently switched out my SRAM 25$ chain for a Shimano XTR chain... the difference is incredible!

I'm not too sure about you guys who have used the XTR Chain before, but man! it shifts like butter! Also, I don't know if it's something I ate, or I just got really good sleep last night but compared to the SRAM chain I used yesterday, the XTR Chain seems much more efficient!

It's like sex on my legs.

I've also used both, actually, i've used all three.... sram, kmc, and shimano xtr/durace (current) and I personally didn't really notice a difference.... maybe your old one was waaaaaaaay streched? either way, glad to hear your bike is up and running again!

Shimano uses Hyper Glide ( HG ) , and that is a patented system. Sram Powergide is close but there chain does not allow as much lateral movement as Shimano, the reason Sram shifts a little faster is due to the cable actuation ratio and do to the fact the der. only uses 9 pivots unlike the Shimano using 10.

You should try a better Sram chain. (The high end ones are Sachs and are great chains.) Not that there is anything wrong w/ an XTR.

I had to buy one of the 25$ Sram chains four months ago due to lack of funds and have broken the chain 5 times . I am tired of putting the chain back together on the trail, it gets old after 5 times in 4 months.

For the price, hard to beat XTR Chain. Be sure to replace 22t small ring at same time to prevent chain suck. Newest XT small ring (M770) has asymetrical teeth to prevent suck too.
