Angry Focking DHX air stuck down!

Freaking Fox DHX air piece of Sh@# got stuck down in the middle of riding Strawberry Peak. I had to tar ride from Redbox down to the junction past Switzers.

Can it be fixed it without sending it in to Fox?

I know some guys on the mtbr turner board had talked about how to "un stick" it. Don't remember how long ago though.
What time were you at Strawberry? I was in the same area today.

Very easy to fix. Do a search on mtbr Turner board. If you can't find it pm and I'll walk you through it.

according to the manual: air it up to 250 psi, that should get it un-stuck, if it remains stuck, send it in to get repaired.

i just recently had to do that "repair"

Good luck on that Frank.

How far is it stuck down in the travel Frank? If it is less than half way or so try the 250psi inflating trick (which probably won't work). If not it really is simple to fix yourself, no need to send it into Fox. You just need to unscrew the air can slowly with a towel wrapped around the shock so it doesn't pop apart and fly off once you break the seal. Then you'll just need to lube up the piston seals and put a few cc's of synthetic motor oil (that is what I used) on top of the piston before you screw the can back on. You should do this about every 6 months or so and you'll never have to worry about getting stuck down again

We started climbing around 8am. It rained on us most of the ride with some hail thrown in.

I tried inflating it up to 260, still stuck.

It's a little more than half way stuck. I bottoms out when I deflate it but it doesn't go more than half way when pumping it up to 250. I'll try to do it myself and hope I don't screw it up more than it is.

What is the eye 2 eye & stroke length? Is it a 4.0 or 5.0?

Good to hear they took care of you.

For any others that plan to take theirs apart, be sure to let all the air pressure out of both chambers before unscrewing the canister.

Hmmm. While I hope not to have to see what Specialized's customer service is like, I'd be interested to know. I'm a firm believer that, generally speaking, you get what you pay for. I'd like to think that if I'm going to pay upwards of $3-4K for a bike that it would be worth it. However, since my wife has been asking for a Coach bag for a while now, I'm not sure you always get what you pay for. I mean, after all, a flipping Coach purse goes for at least $300 and, in my mind, a perfectly good purse of equal usefulness will go for 1/4 of that. So, I'd be glad to know of Turner's are really worth all that money or if there's a bit of a "Coach" factor there. I am somewhat convinced because many of you who ride Turners seem to be pretty down-to-earth cats who aren't necessarily into bling, per se. You don't seem the type to buy a Coach bag to impress. But, still. Maybe you drank some Kool-Aid some place or something.
