Default tube size important?

I've been running Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1's on my bike. While happy with the climbing, I thought the descending skills left a lot to be desired. My front tire seemed to washout, or nearly so, all the time at speed. So, I picked up a new WTB Weirwolf 2.5 for the front.

But, my tubes are 1.7-2.125. Dammit! I should have bought tubes when I was at the store.

So, how important is tube size? Do I really need new tubes?

No need for new tubes. I run 26 inch tubes on 29 inch rims.

It's not the size of the tube........oh, sorry, wrong thread. I have run smaller tubes in bigger tires and have not experienced problems.

Wolverines and Bruins can either act like they won a game before or they can just shut up.

Actually, I'm starting to feel better already. I mean, it's such a compliment that ucla, and everybody else, hates us so much. People always hate it when others show them what excellence is. The average person is just that, average. And, so, when someone is successfull, the average person is resentful and roots for their downfall. Happens all the time. It's a sad commentary on the human race. Rather than revel in and be inspired by excellence, we are disgraced by it.

I, for one, am glad that, once again, USC is hated and despised. I'll take that. It must feel good to beat USC. However, the Trojans were rebuilding this year. They'll still go to the Rose Bowl, collect another $14million for the Pac-10 (you're welcome), and be back next year, contending for the Nat'l Championship.

I understand that you're joking, but honestly, I think this is why many despise USC fans, alumn, students. Deep down, people couldn't care less about football, I mean come on, it's a game. It's what's behind the scenes that irritates people.

I would have this similar argument of why many countries hate america with a roomate of mine. He would say it's because "we are the best" and I would then say "no, it's because of what you just said." Now, don't get me wrong, I think USA if the best country in the world and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, same goes for USC football. Pete Carroll makes that team.... but lay off the arrogance pills. No one needs that. In fact, you should take a lesson from "St. Pete."

I don't hate SC because of their excellence, I hate SC because it's SC and I'm a Bruin fan!

PS-UCLA is rebuilding this year too......

Actually, I was only talking about football, but not totallly joking. I find it hard to believe people would actually hate someone for going to one school or another. That's retarded and I question if the person who hates someone 'cause they went to SC (or any school for that matter) if they actually have a college degree. In truth, I don't hate any Bruins. But, football-wise, I do. I rode with Schecky today. He is obviously a decent guy. He talked sh*t to me and I did it right back. That's why sports are so much fun. That's why school rivalries are so much fun. And, football is big at SC. It's a huge part of the school culture. I didn't even watch sports, much less football, before I went there. Now I watch college and pro football as well as basketball and even some baseball. So, while others don't care about football, most SC students do.

ucla is a good school, academically speaking. USC is too. US News and World Report has USC ranked in the Top 25, iirc and it was the school of the year about 5 years ago. I am justifiably proud of my school and the degrees I hold. I think bruins can be justifiably proud of theirs as well.

But, you know what? Many people do love to see others fail, especially when they are tops at what they do. It makes them feel better about their own inadequacies. Not everyone is like that, but there are a lot of people out there who will tell you that they don't like the Lakers, or USC, or the Yankees or whoever, because they win "too much." Schadenfreude, the Germans call it; pleasure at the misfortune of others. So, are you really going to tell me that there weren't plenty of people rooting against the Trojans yesterday because it's fun to seem them fall?

Anyway, yeah, it's just a sport. I know. And, I'm having fun with it. Sorry I forgot to insert some smileys to indicated that I was funning. Bottom line, I am friends with many bruins and I can honestly say that if I ride with a bruin and they crash and are hurt, I will probably help them. Probably.

Those two (Gurp & Shecky) rode together today like they was bro's. I on the other hand would have nothing to do with either one as I went to UCI, and we didn't even have a football team.

Well, I for one am happy that they are making the title game Ohio St./Florida.
The Rose bowl should be good fun. I'm happy that there will be a quailty game to watch on New Year's Day.

I can't argue with a nice traditional Big 10 / Pac 10 pairing. Hope we have a better showing against the Wolverines.

Man, I am taking so much crap from my students. <shakes head> kids are just mean!

American football is hysterical. You play for about 2minutes. Stop for 5minutes during which the players are advised on what to do next and half the team is swapped over in case they got tired during those 2minutes. Oh and as for the body armour - what a bunch of girls!
Rugby or 'Aussie Rules' are like American football for real men who can think for themselves and dont need a rest every few minutes. Rant over
