i have a question about these brakes. I installed mine last week and did a short ride, i notice that when i brake hard, the brake seems to vibrate (sort of like the rotor has some dirt where the pad will grip then loose then grip again but more consistent so it makes a vibrating feeling). Is this normal co'z of the break in period or do i need to clean the rotors ?

You should just give up on them and put your old Avid mechnicals back on. I'll take the lousy Magura's of your hands.

My guess would be that they need to be broken in... the vibrating my go away.

When breaking in new pads on my Juicy Sevens I have to break them in slow. During the breakin in period, if they start shuttering or making noise I ease up. Find a moderate hill or ride on the flats with the brakes barely on to brake them in.

Disk brakes can be a pain sometimes...but they work so good.

I just put on a set of Louise FR's and Magura recommends several hard brakes from high speed to bed them in. If the vibration continues after bedding in the pads you may have an alignment problem related to set-up or need to have your tabs on your forks/frame faced. I love mine.

it did...but then again, i had my dawg at the shop check it out and i think he made some minor adjustements which may have contributed. not an uncommon scenario with wavy rotors with any model brake.

I have Louise FRs that did the same thing. They take a long time to break in. After a few rides where you vary between hard and soft stops, get some shims and re shim the calipers to the rotors. should fix it
