break yo'self foo
|
The brakes that came stock on my bike are horrible. They're hydraulics, and twice in the first month I have owned this bike, they have broken, either a cable has pinched or the fluid has flown right out of them.
Is there something I can do to change this? Or should I get them replaced?! PLEASE HELP!! |

I have Avid Juicy 5s on my FSR and love em! Great stopping power and no noise. You can also look into the Juice 3s or 7s.

according to larry @ mtn highcyclery, the new 07 juicy 7's will be at a lower price point that was previously home to the juicy 5's. something to think about... i like my Hope brakes, but setting them up and adjusting the caliper can be a pain in the ass.

Have have tried a bunch of different brakes, the single most dependable long lasting set I have is a four year old set of Hayes Mags.

A little dab will do me

well if the HOSE has been pinched then it has to be a routing problem. And is the fluid is comming out at the end they just were not put together right.
I no longer live in your area so I can't recomend a good shop over there to look at it. But out this way Switchback or That Path could fix you right up for sure. |

have you ever experienced the "turkey warble" noise with your juicyFIVE'S jordan? what rotors are you running with them? I have the polygon rotors with my juicyFIVE'S and get the warble from time to time....at first it was annoying, but now it doesn't really bother me.

Not just an issue with the Juicy's. I have the same problem with my Avid Mech's and the older style rotors. mtnbikej |

It took me months playing with my Juicy 7's to get then right. Now that the are dailed in they are great brakes. Replaced both the rotors and pads with Galfer parts. When you pay big $ for top line parts one should not have to replace parts to get them to run right. End of rant.
