Also, the brake levers feel squeshy. I did RTFB thoroughly. The instructions  say that eventually some braking noise will go away and the brakes may tighten up. Do I need to bleed them or wait?

If they are rubbing on turns then usually that means the hub is either loose or needs a rebuild. Since they are new I'll go with loose. Also using a torque wrench on the mounting bolts of the discs helps
